People who already own the classic Xbox 360 who are thinking about getting the new Xbox 360 Elite better pay attention. Engadget has recently published its comparison and conclusions on the Xbox 360 Elite stacked up with previous models and it looks like you better hold on to your dollars for now.The article says that the chips and the respective fans that cool them seems to have remained the same. That means the Elite is no more silent than the old ones. The heat factor is also the same, since the parts were pretty much identical. The disc drive seems to have been replaced as evidenced by the difference in the sound that it makes. However, the noise level is almost the same as before.
The black finish is cool, and the controllers are now completely matte. The power button is clickier than ever and the 120GB hard drive, uh, stores more data of course.
According to the article, the comparison between the HDMI output and the component output is the real deal. The Elite and the classic model were tested with Gears of War and an HD movie. It was easy to tell that you must try real hard to spot the differences in both 1080i displays to really see them. The only real factor which sets the HDMI-enabled display apart from the regular one is a deeper sense of realism in shadows. Engadget notes that it was barely noticeable.
Ultimately, it was suggested that the only reason that anyone would want to get the Elite version of the Microsoft console is if they have insanely large screens to play on. The bigger hard drive can be bought separately. To read the full comparison process made by the site, follow the read URL.

This is like comparing a black girl and a white girl the black girl has a bigger booty, therefore more harddrive space and has a deeper skin tone therefore like hdmi deeper colors and better contrast in either case both are hot and can give a lot of pleasure, but the black girl is going to cost a little more, LOL, anyway I got my 360 at launch and see no need to get the elite and yes I am a black guy and I am not a racist just thought what came to my head was pretty funny, and I think I'm first post, just kidding I can care less about being first.
Whaha that's a funny comparison. Kudo's to for making me laugh. I'm thinking the same (about the 360). You must be mad to get a new one just because of this very small differences.
I'm happy with my premium XBOX 360 for now. My hard drive isn't half full and my TV supports 1080p through VGA so why upgrade? If they add the 65nm chips, I may reconsider.
same with the ps3 and 360...can't really tell a difference in graphics.
