A couple from London are planning to get married after they met on Xbox Live, while play an unknown golf game, 920km away from each other.

Claire Wilcox was playing the game with American Shane Nelson, after he joined the game. They got into a chat and got into a conversation that lasted for hours, and that's how they met. One month later, Shane asked Claire if she wanted to marry him.

Claire, mother of two, said: "Shane asked to play. He was quiet to start with until I remember saying to one of my friends, 'I just want somebody to romance me'." Shane heard that over Live and said: "Down girl. Where do you live?".

The rest is obvious, they played together a lot and now they're getting married in July, and they're also planning on buying a home in the US.

Number 5

#5, are you saying that everyone who plays games is some weirdo in their parents basement with a broadband connection and a wireless network? Or that they are watching Star Trek on one monitor while playing World of Warcraft on the other monitor? OR that they have no life whatsoever and their only friends have numbers in their names?

Good for them

I find nothing wrong with meeting someone over the internet, especially on xbox live. If two people who love video games enough, meet someone like that, then GOOD FOR THEM. Also, being able to talk to them then typing to each other makes it a lot easier to fall for the person. I hope they have a wonderful life together. Oh and i agree with post 10. just because they play on xbox live doesnt mean they're nerds in their mothers basements and even for the girl that she's some Fugly Nerd who watches Star Wars...

Like OMG

ps... Rueben You do realise that the US is MORE than 920km away from Cardiff in Wales, you know, if you had actually bothered to read the original article you sourced this from, you would have seen it says 6920km................................... and yeah, fat people need some love too

I love how everyone is so positive. Some dude and chick found love in a way not many people find love through. Get over it. Just because you are jealous that you couldnt find love in that cool of a way...

Good for them

But what really struck me in that story was he proposed after one month of xbox live chatting? They hadn't even met in real life(story probably would have mentioned that)... It's a whole new ballgame in person, I wish them luck though. =0
