Tetris Evolution - Image 1As reported in a previous article, THQ and The Tetris Company have settled their differences to bring Tetris: The Grand Master Ace aka Tetris Evolution to the 360.

That was specifically for the North American release. Eurogamer was able to corner a THQ UK spokesperson who informed them that there's nothing to announce regarding the title getting to European shores. According to the spokesperson, "It's not that I can't talk about it; we haven't got anything to announce."

Tetris: The Grand Master Ace Tetris Evolution will feature single player and multiplayer modes of up to four players, customization and online play, plus an addition of new content and gameplay modes. Leaderboards and Achievements will be included also. We'll watch out for further announcements regarding this, so stay glued.

CORRECTION: The original title of this article was "No Tetris for Europe?" As you can see by the text above, the article asserted that two different Tetris games were one and the same.

However, Tetris: The Grand Master Ace or Tetris: The Grand Master Ace 4 (sometimes called "T4" for short), is not the same game as Tetris Evolution.
  • Tetris: The Grand Master Ace
    • Developed by Arika (a Japanese company)
    • Published by AQ Interactive (a Japanese company)
    • Released in Japan on December 10, 2005
    • European version will be released on December 31, 2007
    • There seems to be no US / North American version
  • Tetris Evolution
    • Developed by California-based Mass Media Inc.
    • Published by THQ
    • It seems the game will be released only in the US in 2007

Who's gonna fork out for a new version of Tetris on dvd?! Honestly!!! :s Stick it on xbla, sharpen up the resolution a bit, sprinkle with 2-3 techno tracks and sell it for 400pts... For about an hours work at the most. ...hmmm... I could go into marketing...
