Sigh, it's games like this that really force us to relive bittersweet memories when your childhood crush suddenly tells you that he doesn't like you because he couldn't get over the fact that you beat him (quite mercilessly if I might add) at Contra. But of course he couldn't tell you THAT exactly 'coz it'll crumble whatever notions of masculinity he may already be harboring at that age.Anyway, as we reported earlier, Contra will be one of Konami's classic titles to soon hit Xbox Live Arcade. And now, the bird has hit the fan (whaaat?!) 'coz coming to XBLA this Wednesday are your trusty Special Ops soldiers Bill Rizer and Lance Bean! Get to play as either of the two as you laser-fireball-spread gun your way through Red Falcon's minions to protect the world.
Featuring eight levels of jungle environments as well as frozen tundra and steel fortresses, plus bumped up graphics and sound for the 360, the game will also let you play with your buddies via the new multiplayer cooperative gameplay, either on the same console or through XBL.
- Xbox Live features: Players can see how they rank against their friends with worldwide leaderboards and achievements
- 12 achievements: Contra offers achievements which range from straightforward to challenging for players of all skill levels
- Players can opt to play the original arcade game or play in the enhanced mode with improved graphics and sounds
