Command and Conquer

In an interview with Louis Castle, the EA VP and designer of Command & Conquer he confirmed that Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is currently being developed by the same team working on Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth 2. The game takes place in the year 2047 when Tiberium, a self-replicating substance that's infected the earth, begins to spread like wildfire. The GDI (the good guys) are trying to use their technology to contain this hazardous beast, while The Brotherhood of NOD (bad guys) hopes to use it for their own advantage. NOD, led by the evil Kane, hopes to use Tiberium in order to transform humanity, and you can bet that a wide scale war is soon to follow.

Am I the only one that thinks that RTS and Consoles might not be such a good idea?

» Brilliant

I love the Command And Conquer series, and because i am not constantly upgrading my pc , it probably wont work too well on it. So this is good news to me. Lets just hope EA and/or Microsoft allow in-game keyboard and mouse support.

I sure hope that this WONT have ANY *****ING effect on the PC version. IF it does, then may they ALL burn in hell!

YES! imagine that screenshot on a 42 inch HDTV, maaaan. C&C is back for real.. Sure the PC is good and modfriendly and all, but no matter what gfx card you have (except like SLI 7950 GX2), every RTS always always lags with more than 4 players end-game. And im sick of it!! Soo nice to know that i'll be able to enjoy C&C without *****ing lag.

» wrong description

this blogger didnt bother to mention in the description that tiberium is a valuable mineral that is mined for cred in the game, and is not a beast or ne kind of animal for that matter.

» Wii

Let's hope we see a version of this on the Wii. The control system for RTS is abysmall on traditional consoles.

I remember playing the original C&C (or was it Red Alert?) on N64, and it was near on impossible to control correctly. The perfect control setup is keys + mouse, of course. But Wii may come a close second in that battle.

» RTS + Consoles dont mix

there hasnt been a sucessful RTS console game. Why? because the controls of a controller arent enough for fast pace micro management.

Hey get a better system. More RAM and better CPU. I played plenty of RTS games and I havnt lagged even with 8 people.

I have an AMD 3200+, 2GB Ram, Nvidia 7800GS and with Age of Empires 3, 3v3 battles show no slowdowns.

Also your an idiot. If the game is choppy its not lagging, its your crappy system reaching its maximum. If it is lag, then get off your 56k modem and pay more for broadband.

» awesome!

Westwood's dream is coming! I am getting a 360 just for this, and a new computer. CnC FTW!

» lol

Im not the idiot here, english aint my primary language so i choose to use the word lag however i want to, ok?

And its not my "crappy" system, very similar to yours, p4 3.6ghz, 2gb 400mhz ram, 7800GS, sb x-fi, doesnt matter. Every modern RTS always slows down with graphics at maximum. Always. Anyone claiming otherwise with the same type of system is just bull*****ting.

Try Dawn of War with 8 ppl full out war, try Earth 2160 with 8 ppl, try AoE3 with 8 ppl, Act of War with 8 ppl and for the love of god try Rise of Legends with 8 ppl, then tell me they dont slow down no matter your system ;)

Its a fact, not an opinion.
