Chromehounds Gives a 360 the Ring of Death |

Before anything else, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies here at QJ, to this anonymous person who fell victim to the otherwise great and promising mech-combat game, Chromehounds. Here's his story:
I know you have covered the freezing in chromehounds, but I have something new. Not only did chromehounds freeze my box, but after i kept on trying to play it, i had to turn the box off, and then when i turned it back on there were three red lights in the ring of power (positions 1, 3, 4 while vertical). Turns out i cant play my 360 even with the game out, or with any other games.
Last we heard on the freezing issue, Sega's official statement was that they were looking into it and will give out updates soon as they find the source of the problem. Nothing official yet on addressing the slaughter of Xbox 360s, but a heated discussion on the topic is ensuing in the Chromehounds forums. Hopefully, this would be the last Xbox 360 to have a ring of death associated with Chromehounds. No more.

What really sucks is that he killed his 360 trying to play a crappy game lol.
This never happened to me once! Hasn't frozen yet either.
i'm not getting chromhounds now.
He mustuve turned off his 360 while it was accessing his harddrive. The only time its frozen on me was when i had the dashboard up, and thats happened with alot of games. I still think its a great game.
I was playing DOA4 and exited to the dash board. I took the game out and moved my 360 from the vertical to the horizontal position. I then put the game back in and some system error showed up on the screen and parts of the ring of light were red (can't remember which parts). I took the game out and restarted my 360, and it would'nt even go to the dashboard, it displayed the same error message with some of the ring of light red. After I ***** my pants I took my hard drive out and tried it and.....IT WORKED! I put my hdd back and it still works to this day. That had to be the scariest moment of my life!
Hey timmage89, if that was the scariest moment of your life then you've lived a very unscarey life.
it has frozen a few times on a couple of games...but nothing severe... I once also made it do a complete 360 in mid air after i tripped on a cord, causing it to then fall off my entertainment center(its 5 ft off the ground) and games still work. I had halo 2 in the disc drive...it still works too, sadly.

You could'nt tell I was kidding? You've obviously lived a very uneducated life.
I read in SEGA's official forums that some dude had the same problem. He removed his hard drive and and rebooted his ystem while pressing the A button. He said that doing that cleared his cache on his system and he was able to play again. I dunno but maybe this method mite fix other issues.
i rented chromehounds today. maybe its a good thing i rented a scratched disc? hehe

Same thing happend to my friend. But he takes out the game and the 360 still shows the red lights. He called M$ and they are going to fix it for free.
I've played for hours and never had this game freeze on me. I've had the oh-so simple game Galaga freeze on me, but not this. Chromehounds is one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played.
Game sucks anyhow...

I feel bad for you but i had the same problem, heres my story. I was playing chrome hounds and my game would freeze all the time so after like 3 days of this going on i said there has to be something wrong. So i checked the back of the box and it was unusally warm and the disc was aslo, thinking that it was overheating i went out and bought the inner cooler. I believe that it saved my box from total destruction because it did freeze up the game again but the next time i went and palyed the game it said open tray. Now for some reason it wont read my xbox 360 games but it will read dvds, cds, and i have full fuction of my dashboard and arcade games, ect. can someone plz expaline that, not that im complaining but im gald i didnt get the death lights..... sk-infinite@hotmail.com

My brothers XBOX 360 fell victim to this game and the problem is that my xbox has crached a few times too, I'm getting worried that it's going to happen to my system too..... Nooooooooooooooo, Think positive. It won't happen to me (It better Bloody not!!!)
Thats what mine started doing so if i were you i would go buy an inner cooler or make sure you have a warranty.....i went and bought a second xbox 360 will mine is in neverland of mircosoft problems.

I never had one problem with my Xbox..since lauching...! Tonigh I felt the ring of death...the xbox started freezing in the 1st mission, 6th chapter...! I shut it down...and try to resume 2-3 times...always freezing and then it appeared...the 3 red LED (1,3,4) I shut it down again...and it would just flash the red led...couldn't start it. I had to put another game in and it came back to life...I bringing back the game to the store...!
Rectification...This thing is toasted...!!! Just froze on me twice 5min in Ghostrecon campain... Seems like I'll have a long day tomorrow on the phone with M$.
