Chromehounds, the upcoming mech shooter from Sega, has received a demo over at the Marketplace. Although this seems like good new, the catch is that right now the demo is available everywhere except in the United States and Canada. The game should be shipping to stores in United States on July 11th, but if you can't wait just start an Xbox Live silver account in another region such as Japan or Germany. The demo weights in at 554.89 MB so if you are already in another region or have an "extra" account, go ahead and check out the demo over at the Marketplace.

# First imressions....Guest 2006-06-28 20:23
Wow... pretty impressed so far.. the frame rate is through the roof!!... the texturing and geometric detail are good.. slightly better than anything on xbox... but the frame rate, motion blur, and physics seem to be pretty good.. I have only plaed the game for like 5 mintues, but it seems pretty good so far, I would say it is easily worth creating a japanese account for...

if you dont know the japanese address format which is required for signing up, just google japanese address formate and it will show you everything you need and you will be on in no time, the demo took me about 20 mins to download,,, check it out!!

How exactly does one create another account??? Does the 360's region need to be set? Thanks!

# Confused just make another hotmail account or something.Guest 2006-06-28 22:38
yep and make sure you input random addresses that seems right.

just google, oh I forgot net netralitly is no more as of June 28, 2006, I mean search for example japan addresses and you will get a bakery address, alter it a little and use the zip code and telephone area codes.

# i dled it using a japanese accountGuest 2006-06-28 23:58
and starting up the game with my us gold account, i got the esrb T rating. it's a world ready demo, so it makes no sense why it wasn't released here in the US.

this is very unimpressive. the mechs move really slow and you have to do a lot of walking through empty land. I dunno what the multi player is like but this is a boring game with no atmosphere in single player.

one word that sums up my impressiopn of this game : bland

Create a hotmail.com ID for JAPAN. Make up a name and password etc like you always do. Make sure you put a japanese zip code 194-0035 (tokyo)

Then go and make a new account on xbox live (silver account). Once you do this. it will log you in as JAPAN..and now you can play all their game demos for free.

Great graphics, nice realistic movement...most boring gameplay in a demo ever. is the entire game really just walking across a map, then pointing a reticle at an enemy till they die? you cant even jump as far as i know.

# something very unsatisfying about the demoGuest 2006-06-29 17:28
Yup...pretty dull. Where's the friggen fire power fer christ's sake. Short bursts only??? The time between each new round firing utterly annoying..Hello?? Chain gun anyone?? No jumping or jet speed bursts..? Okay in all fairness it is a demo so maybe the full game will have these things, who knows. These mechs look like they could start WW3 but the firepower is so wimpy considering...

What is more important is the discovery that with a Japanese account we now have access to different demos, etc..that's cool
