project-natal-sensor-xboxMore gaming news from the ongoing CES 2010, Microsoft has officially pinned down the release date of Project Natal to "holiday season 2010". Aside from the big news, the company has also announce a brand new XBL Game Room,  teased some blockbuster exclusives and highlights another record breaking year of Xbox 360.

Here are some important highlights of Microsoft's keynote:

  • There are now over 39 million Xbox 360 consoles around the world, and more than 500 million games have been sold.
  • Between Christmas and New Years Day, Xbox LIVE experienced its busiest week ever, adding a new member every second and a record of more than 2.2 million concurrent members online.
  • Nearly 10 million people have logged into Xbox LIVE’s nongaming applications — Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Last.fm, Sky, Canal and Zune — using their Xbox as a way to stay connected to friends and family.
  • Xbox LIVE membership is now an active community of over 20 million people.
  • An lineup of what promises to be blockbuster exclusive games including Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, Crackdown 2, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, and Fable 3
  • The release of what will likely be the biggest game of the year, Halo Reach, continuing the Halo saga
  • The new Game Room on Xbox LIVE, which will be the place to relive the glory days of arcade games, with over 1000 games being released throughout the next three years
  • Scheduled to be available in holiday season 2010, “Project Natal” is only the most recent example of Microsoft’s work creating natural user interfaces.

There isn't anything big about this actually the only thing that are good is Fable 3 and Mass Effect 2 but the rest is blah. I don't see why everyone is making a big deal about the Project Natal do people realize how many people are going to be youtube kicking their TVs over lol not only that I would assume average gamer plays in an normal bedroom and not in the living room not to mention the price either.

Hope developers don't focus on the motion controls and Natal. I really want my non-motion gaming. I also hope that the PS3 motion control and Natal fail.

Listened to a podcast with a Sega big wig and he alluded to the fact that quite a few launch Natal products are simple Wii like games. System does not integrate well into mainstream titles (and there is little interest from Sega to do so).

Who cares what Sega says, they f*cking suck at everything. Sega hasn't done sh*t for years.

And? Its already been stated its just a motion sensor I don't have to test it out just to prove that. Oh wow again I'm a "D bag" just cause I said the truth, again how is this device any good for FPS? kind of stupid paying $150 bucks just for a few 3rd person view games.

they said, "There are now over 39 million Xbox 360 consoles around the world" while vgchartz has them quoted at just under 37 million. Wonder who is right...
