Castlevania: Symphony of the Night XBLA - Image 1

Well, that rumor that Konami's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night would come to Xbox Live Arcade sooner than March is down the drain, but at least we're halfway through March and can say this. If WorthPlaying got its sources right, SOTN will hit Marketplace worldwide on XBLA Wednesday, March 21, starting 0900GMT (or 2 in the morning PDT, but are you guys going to become creatures of the night just to download this game in the first minute of release? Er, don't answer that).

WorthPlaying also mentions an 800 Microsoft Points price listing for SOTN. On the one hand, eight hundred points for something that busts the old 50MB Arcade cap? (On the other hand, maybe the price is just for the conversion of the old-school files to XBLA format, not the actual development costs of the game, which are long sunk and paid for with SOTN's first release).
  • Play the original version of the game or experience it in enhanced mode with improved graphics and modernized audio and sound effects
  • New native widescreen and high-definition support
  • Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points

:)

I'm glad to see XboXers getting a chance to enjoy one of THE BEST games out there! This was one of the first games that I finished on my PS one back in 1999. :) A must BUY!

frame.

Could have been a nice edition to the xbox live arcade, but that frame around it ruins it. The 360 can upscale, why not do it? I could be wrong and there may be an option to change it. But until I know for sure, I think id rather stay with the original game.

please.....

i sure hope they make it full screen...it said it would have high definition enhancements....so i would asume that full screen would be one of them...otherwise that would just be stupid! everyone would just go and get it for ps1 again and play it full screen anyway......and whats with the direct port from the ps1 anyway!!!! arent they trying to compete with sony? why not one up them and port the saturn version?

Well...

Why am I here when I don't even own an Xbox? Ah, I know. SOTN deserves to be buyable for every gamestation out there. It's one of the best freakin' games ever. It took me several years, Seven, I believe, to beat that god-forsaken and oh-so awesome game. Except GameCube. Nobody wants SOTN to go on GameCube. Nobody. Making SOTN for the GameCube console would be classified as the sin that would instantly kill you and launch you straight to the fiery depths of hell.
