Robert Bowling's blog reported that the downloadable map pack was released this morning at around 6:30 a.m. PST. This debunked the previous mention of the downloadable content's delay for next week.
The Variety Map Pack includes two additional maps to help extend gamers' FPS experience - the Broadcast and the Creek maps. These are the larger map sets fans of the game have been clamoring for from the developers. To help give players an idea of how the maps look like, we were able to grab two videos showing off the different aspects of each.
There's also been word that there might be extra experience points given out this weekend, so make sure to get your hands on the new maps before then and see if you have what it takes to go against your fellow soldiers on the new battlefield.

And for some reason kills were registering as 20pts. Curious if anyone's figured out if that's a gift for the first day buyers or a glitch cuz I didn't get to play long enough to figure it out.

I got to play the Broadcasting station for 2min before it died on us then I played a giant woodsy outdoors map that will be absolute heaven for sniping. I played that for a full game and it just kept revealing more area. I heard lotsa people (incl myself) exclaiming "WHER THE HELL AM I?" after respawn. There's a cave that makes fire fights in there look so awesome.
The broadcasting one has large indoor killing venue as well as outdoor. The lighting in the station is very pretty. I can't wait to get back and play as every kill is worth double too. Not sure if Last Stand is worth 40pts but it was a pleasant surprise w/ the extra exp.
