Bungie: ODST is final exclamation point for Halo 3

Halo 3: ODST - Image 1

If you're still itching for new Halo 3 content, then you better make sure to get Halo 3: ODST. Based on an IGN interview with Bungie community director Brian Jarrard, it looks like there will be no more Halo 3 content from Bungie after the expansion pack hits.

Once the Mythic maps are released this Spring, fans will still be able to look forward to a few more exclusive new maps that will be included in the Halo 3: ODST release later this Fall.

Overall though, we are viewing the ODST campaign and the included multiplayer maps as the final exclamation point in our ongoing efforts to extend the Halo 3 experience.

Well, even if there are no new maps, there's always Forge to fall back on along with the comparatively large Sandbox map included in the Mythic Pack. And don't forget about Halo Wars.

No more halo 3 content?

Looks like we got a new star for xbox...Gears of War.

by Typhon00 - 2009-02-05 17:38
» What?

New star? Gears isnt the new star. More people play Gears now and have been since the release of Gears 2.

As soon as Gears of War came out back in 06 i dropped Halo and moved on. The main reason being its more tactical and a retarded 8 year old who thinks hes the OG cant pick up a rocket launcher, get some kills, then flame that hes the best. With Gears, if your IQ isnt above 100 you gonna get your a$$ kicked bottom line.

Im sorry to break it to you, but Gears has been the star for a while.

» ok buddy

That retarded 8 year old who thinks hes an OG can only get kills in Halo playing against other retarded 8 year olds who think they're OGs.

The only logical conclusion I can come to for the Halo haters is that they suck at it. After all, why would you hate a game you're good at? Do those retarded 8 year olds beat you consistently typhon?

BTW I think you used a pretty bad weapon to make your dumb comparison, because the rockets are by far the nub friendliest weapon in Gears. If I had a nickel for every time I was in a 3 or 4 man fight on Wingman and some asshat blindfired a rocket and picked up 4 easy kills, I'd have a lot of god damn nickels

To binary, I don't see how you can say booo since ODST will come with the FOURTH map pack for Halo 3 and an expansion for crying out loud. I think that's plenty

There are rockets in gears?

The first Halo was amazing fun, and it was a FPS like I've never seen before in 3D! I missed Halo 2 for some reason, and when I played Halo 3 .. It was really bleh. I don't know why, but something just didn't click. I don't like Gears of War too much online, I love the single player though (I'm a single player campaign kind of guy), and I LOVE EpicMegaGames .. I miss Jazz Jackrabbit!!!

Anyway, point being is that Halo 3 disappointed me and I guess Bungie must have picked up on the drop in users and determined that it isn't profitable to continue releasing for DLC for the game.

» i agree with master chef

i wish more games got as much add-on content as halo3... it's had a good run and i'm glad to see the devs move on.

maybe we will finally get to see what that damn sphere is next year...

halo will always define the xbox for me, if it wasn't for halo i would of stopped console gaming when the dreamcast died...

@ Master Chef.

Judging by your name you must like Halo. And with that, one can assume that you would protect Halo, as you are. In your comment you contradict yourself.

You say that retarded 8 year olds can only kill others of the same, but later you say and i quote,

"If I had a nickel for every time I was in a 3 or 4 man fight on Wingman and some asshat blindfired a rocket and picked up 4 easy kills, I'd have a lot of god damn nickels".

My only conclusion is that you must be an asshat who fires blindly and gets easy kills.

But if i am wrong, then you must be wrong.

Oh, and by the way, no, there are no rockets in Gears of War 1 or 2. There is however the Boomshot, which does not fire rockets but launches grenades. And also, with the Boomshot, I agree that it is nub friendly but can you jump 10 feet in the air and quickfire a rocket at a group of people? No. Anyone with a Boomshot has just as much a chance of being killed by someone more skilled than them, if not more because they may feel themselves at an advantage having the Boomshot and run out onto the field trying to kill someone and end up being killed by said skilled player.

And on my final note, you say that if you had a nickel every time for "", you would have a lot of god damn nickels. If you were any good you would learn to avoid those situations.

And no I don't get killed by 8 year olds on Halo, because I'm playin Gears *****!

I agree. I find myself playing the first HALO all the time. The other two were so so. Good but so so.

Halo is over hype , not a bad game but way over hyper

» true

I'm good at Halo so I like it, and not too great at Gears so I don't care for it much, but this

Is true for Halo as well. I can easily kill anyone with rockets on Halo. So I still don't get your original post. If you're bad at Halo you're only going to get kills and go positive playing against bad people, same for Gears. You get your ass kicked playing people who are better on either game

Gears - Halo bi*ching can go on forever, so let's just admit both are good games and take skill.

i'm pissed my halo got lost/stolen

» meh

i'd say the same thing about Metal Gear and Gears of War...

but i think it's more the fact that they just aren't my kind of game...

it's only over hyped if it sucks, which none of the three do...

by rollypoly - 2009-02-06 15:54
» yeah

if only we had gotten the rumored 1.5 with live support...

imo 3's campaign was as good if not slightly better than combat evovled. only way it could of been better is if they dropped the cortana/gravemind interruptions...
