The British police force is not happy with Eidos' upcoming action game Reservoir Dogs. The game would apparently push people to use violence against police officers, and resist arrest. They were surprised that the game is about to be on retailer's shelves and also said it's disappointing to find violent videogames on the market that would mentally damage people.Head of the West Yorkshire Police Federation says the game based on Quentin Tarentino's cult classic is a sickening apotheosis of violence against police officers. Other anti-videogame activists join the police force with their accusations towards Eidos. There has already been a motion to ban the game from the UK, for example. Reservoir Dogs already got banned from Australia; the game will only be released at the end of this year.
The British Board of Film Classification does mention that they gave the game, just like the movie got, an 18 rating. Of course everyone knows that no one pays attention to that, because only the parents can stop the kids from buying violent games. A spokesperson of the rating board said that the game isn't worse in its violence than any other 18 rated game, like the Grand Theft Auto games for example.
Reservoir Dogs will most likely ship for the Xbox 360, plus some current-gen consoles. Nothing has been confirmed yet.
