BioWare's Mass Effect delayed till next year? |

Is Mass Effect pushed back to 2008? With rumored dates such as June 2007 as well as BioWare's statement that it can't commit to a specific release date, the video game's release is certainly looking bleak for those who can't wait to get their hands on the game.What prompted us to think that Mass Effect, the much anticipated science fiction action RPG, has been pushed back for next year is the games availability date in GAME UK's website where the game's listed to have a January 2008 release.
While it could be just be a placeholder date, it's quite fishy that a retailer changes the availability date without due notice by the publisher. Stay with us as we get to the bottom of this woeful rumor.

Dont go off GAME's release date, they constantly chnage them and are usually way out!
Game hardly represent accurate release dates, i will wait for the actual announcment before jumping to conclusions !
I love the look of mass effect, I wish it was coming out for the ps3 instead of that inferior console..
I've had a 360 for a year now, I'm interested in getting a PS3, but was wondering besides Motorstorm and GT what games are out that really make the PS3 worth it atm?

Some good 360 games are multiplatform, so you can play them on PS3 too.
Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, R+CF, Lair. Those games look great and they're all releasing this Fall.
On topic - This is the only game I'm looking forward to on the 360. It's been collecting dust waiting for Mass Effect. It better not be delayed.

There are no good games for PS3 at the moment. It wont get any games worth getting until Nov-Mar of 08. If I were you I would wait to get one.
I had a PS3, but sold it on eBay last thursday. I kept my Wii and Xbox 360. If you get a PS3 now you wont have any games worth getting that arent already on Xbox 360.

There is no point in worrying about ifs....my launch 360 has been heavly used in a way too hot apt for 1.5 yrs now with no probs....and you know what, i've used it so much that paying $140 wouldn't be a big deal (I use it for EVERYTHING, music, streaming movies (I download/watch 3-5gigs of movies/shows a day) and of course at least 3, but upto 10 hrs a day in gaming....so leave that alone....
Anyways, this game will release before holidays...."bonus round" on game trailers said it was delayed till august (durring thier pre-E3 coverage) so I assume that's up to date...
Nick....right now there is no reason to get a PS3 unless you want a blu-ray player....
Depends what you are interested in though...since all I like are FPS, RPG, racing, and hockey, 360 is the best for me, since PS3 has no exclusive fps's or rpg's on the horizon (ff can lick my nuts, it's gone so far downhill) and the only exclusive games for it comming out anywhere near soon are Lair, Heavenly sword and Uncharted.....all of which are actiony arcadey games that just are not interesting anymore.....they were great when I had the simple mind of a child, but are basically games for noobs and will have no online vs human element, which really is the best element of any game as AI is always dumb as f*ck....
Eventually MS will revise the design of the 360 and repair all old consoles for free.....it's almost happening now with these new repairs comming back with more heatsinks and a modified shroud....we'll see if that fixes the problem....if it does, then MS will probably fully admit the mistake, and just re-furb all old 360's with the new heatsinks...
I'm still not convinced though, as out of 10 real friends and 50'ish online, none have had problems....so i've yet to experience it firsthand and kinda think it's a blown out internet rumour.....unless Canada is getting all the good 360's and the US/UK is getting crap ones....which I doubt...
If you already have a 360 then don't bother with a PS3 right now, same reason I'm not getting one until both a price drop and the release of MGS4.
If you didn't already have a 360 it would easily be worth it, since there are tons of great multiplatform games. But ATM the only good PS3 exclusives are Motorstorm and Resistance. So unless you just gotta watch some Blu-Ray movies, wait.

that....and the fact that RPGs require LOTS of hours of gameplay. Might be too long for the 360 to handle before it fails.
