Bioware talks about the details of Mass Effect's first DLC |
Ó
Just when we thought we've seen the last of Command Shepard, the main protagonist (we're keeping the pronouns safe here) of Mass Effect is set for an all new adventure to save the world from those dastardly Batarians.
In an interview conducted by IGN, Casey Hudson, Project Director of Mass Effect at BioWare, talks about the new downloadable content for the game on Xbox Live. Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky features 90 minutes of extra gameplay as the main character tries to stop the Batarians from crashing an asteroid into an inhabited planet.
Bring Down the Sky will allow players to gain additional paragon or renegade points across a uniform storyline, which can be pursued once you gain access to the Galaxy Map. Players can expect to see several new items and achievements, which can carry over to the main game upon completion.
However, perhaps the biggest feature in the game is the introduction of the Batarians to Commander Shepard and the crew of the SSV Normandy. Since this is the first time the player can pit themselves against the evil alien race, this sets the backdrop for any follow up content which will reveal the race's scheme to dominate the galaxy.
Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky will be available for download on the Xbox Live this March 10 for 400 Microsoft Points. It was also mentioned that a PC version bundle, containing the new additional content, will be available in retail stores as well. Hudson closed the interview by saying that everyone can look forward to more exciting content for the game in the near future.
