Don't let the cowboy hat distract you... she's a girl.

Don't let the zombies distract you from what's really important here. You have to kill them, remember? Just be lucky that you're controlling a bikini-clad cowgirl with a katana who's good at what she does.

Oneechanbara vorteX is the latest version of Tamsoft and D3's Simple 2000 series of video games, all of which feature scantily clad women with swords killing things or beating the stuffing out of each other. For vorteX, their first 360 version of the series, it's this sassy cowgirl versus an army of zombies. Why she does it, and the origins of her zombie-slaying vendetta... doesn't really seem important when you're in the thick of the zombie-slashing action and controlling a girl who's barely wearing anything resembling armor (or clothes, for that matter).

In any case, the developers have opened up the Oneechanbara vorteX portal for their website, featuring more pictures, gameplay, and announcements than you can shake a sword at. There's also some more good news for everyone, as the Japanese release date for this game has been bumped up from December 31 to December 14. The screenshot pages also show another character, a younger zombie-slayer in a schoolgirl outfit. Those darned pervs game developers.

Look for it in import shops or just scour the net for pictures. Have fun gamers, and remember: this game has two-player action as well, so you don't have to play by yourself. Enjoy!

I recently saw quite a bit of gameplay footage of this game on G4. The graphics are pretty, but just watching it, I could see that the gameplay was TERRIBLE. The zombies were slow moving, and not even dangerous. A single hit from one of her swords would knock the zombies flat on their backs. But that is IF she hit them. Her movements looked so clunky, she would often swing at thin air (yes, she MISSED the barely moving zombies) just watching the character move and attack, gave me the impression that the game has really terrible controls.
