In other words, the game's been delayed. The reason for this is that the Xbox 360-exclusive (so far) title "is becoming much more than we ever expected." Explained Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid creators: "It feels like no other game out there - there's a little more r&d than we thought and lots of new ground to break. This means we will be releasing in 2010."

Although the game's been confirmed for Microsoft's console only at this point, we expect further announcements as to where else it could be headed to. BattleBlock Theater will also be allowing up to four players on a single console, as well as a feature mode of 16-player online multiplayer.

No new release window has been set for the game, so in the meantime, check out its previously-released trailer so you can refresh your memory what it's all about.
