For the unitiated, Rare Ltd.'s Viva Pinata is one of those games that caters to both casual and hardcore audiences, as well as kids of all ages. You, the player, starts off with a neglected plot of land, and it's up to you to pretty it up so that multicolored candy animals called Pinatas will come over and move in, becoming residents. You'll plant, landscape, and even help two pinatas fall in love and have little pinatas of their own.
For parents worried about violence or any mature themes in this game, you'll be happy to know that Viva Pinata is safe for anyone to play, the game having received multiple awards including Family Game of the Year. Not only does it teach your young'uns the importance of friendship, love and hard work, it also gives them a sense of responsibility, as the game has you taking care of all your resident pinatas.
