Auction: custom Guitar Hero II controller for charity |
We picked this up from Kotaku, and we can't help but smile. If it's for a good cause, we don't mind plugging it, and this is definitely for a good cause. There's one last custom-made Guitar Hero II controller up for auction on eBay, and the proceeds of the auction will go directly to the Child's Play charity.
During the Funde Razor II event held in Brooklyn, two of these sweet controllers were raffled off to participants. This is actually the third in the series of controllers made by Joel Miller ID, and is going for the same purpose the first two were made out for: a good cause. Child's Play has already picked up a half-million in funds from generous donations and participants to their charity events, ensuring that some kids will have a happy Christmas this year, even if they happen to be in the hospital.
In any case, we're putting the information placed on the bid below. It's currently up to 455 dollars as of this writing, so this may put another thousand dollars worth of smiles on kids' faces once the auction is over.
This is a hand-crafted Guitar Hero controller made by Joel Miller ID for the Funde Razor event held for the Child's Play Charity. All proceeds from this auction will be given directly to Child's Play (minus any Paypal fees, of course).
The guitar being auctioned is the red-and-black model with flames. (The other two guitars were raffled off at the event.) It has been tested to work with both Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II and includes a wireless dongle. It uses batteries which can be replaced by removing a screw-off panel on the back. The headstock features a custom Funde Razor II logo, making this a unique change to own a part of Funde Razor II history. (Okay, that doesn't mean much, but still...)
Winners will receive the guitar, dongle, a strap, a soft case, and a guitar stand. They will also receive the warm feeling of knowing that they're getting a totally radical guitar and helping to buy toys and games for the children treated at the Montefiore Children's Hospital in the Bronx.
