Live long and prosper.

It was confirmed earlier that William Shatner will be donning his Trek duds once again for Bethesda Softworks and Mad Doc Software's Star Trek: Legacy. Shatner played Capt. James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series. Big news for Star Trek fans, but now we've got even bigger news: all five captains will reprise their roles for Legacy.

That means Patrick Stewart will be doing the voice acting for Capt. Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Avery Brooks will take on the role of Capt. Benjamin Sisko from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Kate Mulgrew will once again play Capt. Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager. The latest Trek captain, Capt. Jonathan Archer from Star Trek: Enterprise, will be voiced by Scott Bakula.

This will be the first time all five actors have participated in a single Star Trek project together. With the 40th anniversary celebration of Star Trek only days away, this announcement is sure to make Trekkies shout for joy.

"I am delighted to have the chance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Trek with my fellow captains by providing our voices to Star Trek: Legacy," said Shatner. "Bethesda Softworks has done an excellent job in creating an exciting game that stays true to Star TrekÂ’s roots and accurately incorporates elements from each series."

Star Trek: Legacy's compelling storyline spans the entire Star Trek Universe, including the original series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise eras.

So, there you have it, boys and girls. Yet another reason to look forward to Star Trek: Legacy's release.
