As we reported a few days ago in a clarification about XBLA Wednesdays, Alien Hominid HD from The Behemoth will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 starting tomorrow, February 28, 2007 at 8 a.m. GMT. That means 3 a.m. in New York, New York.March should see more games released every Wednesday (we hope) as part of the XBLA Wednesday campaign.
Alien Hominid HD is a cult classic originally released in 2004 for the PS2 and GameCube. The press release from Microsoft describes the game like this:
As feisty yet adorable alien, gamers must fend off FBI agents to ensure their spaceship stays safe. With unique, hand-drawn characters and weapons, this award-winning title is the epitome of quirky humour and intergalactic fun. Sixteen levels, seven mini-games, and jump-in anytime multiplayer capability adds to the cosmic mayhem.
We describe the game like this: old-school style of gameplay and lots of strange humor (a recent gameplay video post of the non-HD version was proof enough). It has 720p HD support, and it also features a widescreen mode. Alien Hominid HD also has cooperative multiplayer offline and has minigames for up to 4 players online.- Sixteen levels and seven mini-games, including "All You Can Eat" and "PDA," now with online multiplayer support. It seems that there will be 150+ levels in the "PDA" mini-game.
- Main and Mini-games high scores are tracked on the Xbox Live Leaderboard.
- Difficulty settings can be adjusted on a per-controller basis.
- Multiplayer modes enable two players locally in the main game and up to four players offline or on Xbox Live in Mini-games.
- Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points.
Alien Hominid HD will cost 800 Microsoft Points.
