Alan Wake remains 360 and Vista-exclusive |
Ó
Remedy Entertainment's visually stunning psychological thriller game Alan Wake is without a doubt one of the most hushed-up games ever announced. Why hushed-up? Well, Remedy remains tight-lipped about their brainchild, and the details that they release come just oh-so-sporadically.Though we've given you the preview months ago, apparently there's been some changes (and not just with the release date, I tell ya) with how the game will play out on your consoles and PCs.
Now with the sporadic updates in mind, we're happy to inform you that our resident internet hounders were able to come across the following info about Alan Wake via Helsingin Sanomat:
- Alan Wake will be one of the games to be demonstrated on Windows Vista, and thus enabling Microsoft to put a firm hold on Remedy and the game production. Remedy's lead game designer, Petri Järvilehto, says, "Microsoft has huge machinery for games production. If a team of 80 voice actors are needed from the States, they can provide it. Their test laboratory is also fantastic."
- All the game characters have been modelled after actors, some of which will also be lending their voice talents in the game. All these actors are American, except for main character Alan Wake who's modelled after the Finnish actor Ilkka Villi.
- And to answer PC gamers' question, yes, the game will indeed be heading to PCs, although it will be Vista-exclusive.
- "Alan Wake will require either the Windows Vista operating system or Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming console as its platform. The game will not be translated for other consoles."

This game looks incredibly interesting. I've been wanting a slow-paced thriller that actually has me at the edge of my seat in anticipation, and this seems to be one those kind of games(think Silent Hill(PSX) I remember being blow away with their graphics when I first saw the screenshots last year. I hope this will be a great game.
Microsoft has been tauting this game as a Vista/360 exclusive since it was announced, what's new about this?
Read how Call of Duty 3 360 compares to the PS3 version, http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/746/746533p2.html The 360 COD3 has a point system and voice support, PS3 has none, Xbox moves at a smoother framerate, The PS3 version stutters often and boasts a more washed out color palette) etc. And this is a REVIEW.
read About the PS3 version of Oblivion..and how it compares to the 360 version http://ps3.ign.com/articles/762/762108p1.html Watch How the PS3 Oblivion...with the Limited Porting time, and all the Bad,Press Out-Performs the 360 version in every Aspect from Loading time,Textures and Detail Even though the 360 Version was developed alongside the PC version and Had Incredible Development Time Enjoy
Why the hell would anyone here want to read a preview of a game on the PS3 thats been around for at least a year on the 360 and even longer on the PC? and no one takes any notice of previews that is why they are not reviews, OMG.
I hope this will be great, it looks as though it will. Off topic, PS3 still not in the UK but i read a review the other day of a PS3 game and they said it's just not the same without feedback from the controller (vibration). I had forgot about this but think this will make a big difference. I would be interested to hear from some PS 3 owners over there, is it a big miss or not?
Why is M$ trying to push Vista like this on users when most people either can't afford the OS or run it on their systems to begin with?
An update will soon be released for the 360 version, and will enable it to have all of the things that the year old PS3 version has. That, and we actually get/have had (for a long, long time now), additional content such as horse armour, quests, add-ons etc. Why can the PS3 support these added features? This is because of the PS3's RAM limitations. Go check 1UP for a video on shivering isles and it will prove my point (facts from the editor's mouths.) =)
Er I dont get your post ?.
I think he means the new update coming for the 360 version which is going to have more features etc than the PS3 version.
