Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft has finally pinned down the release date of the highly anticipated psychological action thriller game, Alan Wake. After five years in development, the Xbox 360 exclusive will finally hit the store shelves on  May 18 in North America and Europe on May 21.

Aside from the big news, Microsoft has also confirmed that gamers who will pre-order the gamer at participating retailers will receive a “Bright Falls Bonus Pack,” which includes exclusive content such as avatar gear, an Xbox LIVE theme, and a “making of” video. For those looking to immerse themselves in the mystery beyond the game, you can also pre-order the limited collector’s edition pack, which includes a bonus discs of behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive in-game commentary and hints from Remedy, a game soundtrack, “The Alan Wake Files” book, and more, all bound together in a hardcover bookshelf-worthy package.
