Age of Conan: The Bear Shaman in focus |
Ó
By Crom! Another character has come to light in Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (PC, Xbox 360)! The Bear Shaman is primarily a healing class which can still lay the smackdown on foes that get "too close for comfort."This class is composed of individuals who are attuned to nature. These men and women are often held in very high regard due to their innate abilities to call upon the power of the spirits. Those who have decided to become adventurers are called Bear Shamans and are said to be some of the best companions one can have. Unlike the Druid of the Storm, this class focuses more on the physical aspect of nature.
Bear Shamans don't call lighting from the skies or summon fierce winds to smite their enemies. They draw the power of nature into themselves, turning their bodies into weapons of mass destruction. There are two aspects that they can choose to focus on: Tranquility and Fury.
Tranquility focuses on healing, and taps into the power of the wind to perform this feat. Fury, on the other hand, calls upon the spirits of the bear to grant him strength to smite his enemies. When he uses this ability, a transparent shape of a bear rises behind him to grant him the power. (Sort of like BraveStarr.) This class also has the ability to wield different weapons which include but are not limited to two-handed blunt weapons, two-handed edged weapons, and bows.
Now the developers have mentioned that this class is still a work in progress. Well, from the looks of things, very little work will be needed since the class looks really cool. Although, might we suggest a little balancing since it might be a bit too powerful.
