Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Demonologist preview |
Ó
By Crom! Funcom has recently released details on what could be one of the most dominating classes in the game Age of Conan: The Hyborian Adventures. So far, we have covered three classes, with the Lich, the Druid of the Storm, and the Herald of Xotli. The Demonologist, from all indications is the most power-hungry and twisted among the mages. They are willing to trade their very souls for power, demonic power (much like a Herald of Xotli). The Demonologists use demonic pacts and sacrifices which allow them to draw forth powers from their immortal demonic masters. In turn, the powers granted slowly corrupt the user, warping the visage and personality of the Demonologist. There are two fields in which the Demonologist focuses upon: the command of demonic minions and a variety of fire and electrical based direct damage spells.
The demons are of course the feared weapon in their arsenal. Their "Demonic Servitude" ability allows them to bind a demon to their will. The demon will then bring forth chaos and destruction on behalf of the Demonologist that bound it.
If the Demonologist feels that the demon is not enough to handle his foes, his secondary specialization may be called into play. Devastating fire and electrical attacks called from the depths of hell can make short work of any opponent in its path.
The skills that have been announced so far:
- Initial Levels
- Flamestrike
- Shockstrike
- Level 35
- Firestorm
- Shockblast
- Other skills
- Sacrifice
- Blood Sacrifice
Eternal damnation is a small payment to slake the Demonologist's constant thirst for power. This is a path you may wish to take if you seek absolute dominion of Hyboria.
