Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures gets a new launch date - Image 1

If you were hoping to pick up copy of Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures MMORPG (for the PC and Xbox 360) by its previously announced March 25 launch date, we've got some bad news.

The developer has just sent out a press release announcing that the game has been pushed back to May 20. This does not mean they've hit some sort of development snag or related problems, however.

Funcom explained that the reason for the delay was because they felt that Age of Conan needed more polishing prior to its public release. As producer and game director Gaute Godager explained:

The companies standing apart in the gaming market today are those with a relentless drive to achieve quality. Even though we regret delaying the launch, I am certain we made the right choice.

I hope that our followers and fans will support our decision, and respect our commitment to quality.

In line with the new launch date, Funcom also announced that they will be continuing the close beta tests. That's all the details the developer divulged at the moment - check back again in case we receive any word regarding this MMORPG's much-awaited Open Beta phase.
