Activision: PS3 Will Outsell Xbox360 in 2010

As part of the publisher's Q1 fiscal results, Activision Blizzard has released its internal estimates for console and portable hardware in North America and Europe combined. For the current calendar year, Activision is forecasting that the Wii will once again be the best-selling console with another 12 million units sold.  activision_hardware_estimates

 

Activision also believes that Sony's PS3 will top Microsoft's Xbox 360, 9 million vs. 8 million units sold. Ever since launching the PS3 slim model at the lower $299 price last September, Sony's had some good momentum, and games like Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and God of War III have fueled the fire. It seems Activision is confident Sony can keep the momentum going.

In Japan. If you check the Charts, Japan's hardware sales are less than half of the other countries.

Which is why the XBOX360 isn't hurting more from it's lack of sales over there.

it would take 8 more years. O well atleast when the Xbox 360 dies and there is a new Xbox the PS3 would still be around and then the end result would be the PS3 still outselling the 360 but at a point where the battle is pretty much over.

not that i am into the console war but it is funny when people forget what extent certain companies and their fans go to to get those numbers... bannings, faulty hardware, modifying - one console online one console off. all that stuff distorts who is "winning the battle" lol
oh and then there is the fact that not all the consoles where released in the same year.

truth be told it doesn't really matters who is winning we the gamers always lose anyway

If people are buying two consoles, one to hack, the other to use legit, that's not distorting who's winning, that's clearly a win in that console's direction.

If the PS3 wasn't so reputedly "hack-proof", you'd probably see the same thing happening.

reason why the xbox sold more 2009 because everyone wanted one.. now everyones like look at the Ps3 and its cool games.. I should buy one and there cheap..

I bought Ps3 on launch date for $600 now its half of that ;[.. I have two year old xbox and I play it more my ps3..

wasn't so long ago activision said xbox will never be out sold and had xbox only cod dlc and xbox 1st and ps3 later dlc. now if they are serious about this then i better see ps3 only cod dlc and ps3 1st dlc
