Ace pilots who already braved the skies of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation on the Microsoft Xbox 360 have no reason to turn their wings in just yet, because Namco Bandai is mixing things up a bit with DLC. New downloadable planes will soon be available along with a new team battle map that costs 100 MS Points.

The foreboding A-10A Thunderbolt looks nice, but those who played through Ace Combat Zero would have a hard time trying to pick a favorite over F-15E Strike Eagle, which does the great wingman justice he deserves. Then again, for the enthusiast, all these angels are sweet.

Just take your own personal pick. Here are the planes, pictures, and their descriptions from Namco Bandai's press release:

Mirage 2000-5, Scarface Emblem: Bearing the emblem of the heroes of Ace Combat 2, this aircraft's armor has been reinforced at the expense of stability. (Free)

F-22A Raptor - Mobius - Image 1 F-22A Raptor - Mobius - Image 2

F-22A Raptor, Mobius: Emblazoned with the mark of the legendary Mobius Squadron from Ace Combat 4, this plane is all about offense; its unparalleled destructive abilities come at the expense of a limited damage threshold. (200 MS Points)

F-15E Strike Eagle - Cipher - Image 1 F-15E Strike Eagle - Cipher - Image 2

F-15E Strike Eagle, Cipher: Designed as memorial to the hero of Ace Combat Zero, this variation of the F-15E Strike Eagle is home at the front of any battle with its enhanced weapons systems. (200 MS Points)

F-15E Strike Eagle - Pixy - Image 1 F-15E Strike Eagle - Pixy - Image 2

F-15E Strike Eagle, Pixy: Featuring a unique design on its right wing, this plane is dedicated to Pixy, Cipher's wingman from Ace Combat Zero, who nearly lost his wing in combat. Incredibly light, this plane has unparalleled stability. (200 MS Points)

A-10A Thunderbolt - Xmas - Image 1 A-10A Thunderbolt - Xmas - Image 2

A-10A Thunderbolt, Xmas: The most festive aircraft ever to see combat duty, this plane is seemingly unaffected by gravity as it glides through the skies, unleashing hell on enemies while delivering messages of good cheer to allies. (200 MS Points)

F-117A Night Hawk - Idolmaster - Image 1 F-117A Night Hawk - Idolmaster - Image 2

F-117A Night Hawk, The Idolmaster Yukiho: Combining cutting-edge flight technology with the style of the breakthrough Idolmaster series and plenty of holiday cheer, this plane boasts impressive maneuverability. (400 MS Points)

» Awesome.

That F117-A Nighthawk with Yukiho on the tail fin is certainly very intimidating. I'd hate to be on the business end of its carpet bomb run.

» F-22 all the way!

But I sure want to be at the helm of an A-10. Twin chaingun action brings a smile to my face any day.
