1UP spent two days playing Gears of War...

And dedicated a little under ten minutes of their weekly video podcast ,The 1UP Show, to talk about it. So we've already had Microsoft execs and Reuters (check here), and gamers (one, two) talk about Epic Games' Gears of War, why not give game journalists a chance? And this one, at least, features A LOT of gameplay video.

Ah, and the other features of this video podcast: 1UP's opinion of the chess-like "stop-n-pop" gameplay, the all-around "A" button, chainsaws, the controls' learning curve, and how with practice, you can pull moves like Cliff Bleszinski, the chainsaw, the Active Reload in-game minigame, the chainsaw, multiplayer, the chainsaw, and the chainsaw. Did we mention the chainsaw?

You know, if you give us two days with Gears of War, you'd probably never hear from us again. Probably because half of us starved to death, and the other half's too busy eating the dead half. Please don't tell me this is how the Locusts were born...

And thanks for sending this tip to us, badam! We promise we won't cannibalize you if we all ever get trapped in a room with Gears of War...

I don't prefer "zombie" "goblin" killing games like doom or quake so I don't know if I'll like this.



But, I guess if I'm "saving the planet" by killing them then that may be fun. I have heard it supposed to be the coolest looking game yet.



Although, COD3 is coming out, bet that will be pretty sweet as well.

I get a sense of flow from watching them play. If people get real good at this game there will be a lot of screwing to the other players.
