It seems that Korean fans of the Xbox 360 got to see a lot of cool new stuff about Microsoft's next-gen console. Among other things, Microsoft just announced plans of releasing a 100GB version of the Xbox 360 hard-disk sometime in March 2007. You can also see the funky receiver, which will be a counterpart for the wireless controller, so that you can use it on your Windows PC.
Besides, there's also the larger capacity Memory Unit at 256MB, and a couple of cool-looking headsets for Xbox Live. Feast your eyes on these pictures courtesy of Game inside.
UPDATE: Ankalagon dropped us an e-mail saying that Xbox Germany's Microsoft Senior Product Manager Boris Schneider-Johne says that there has not been an announcement for100GB hard discs. The words "100GB" were apparently just painted by someone on the slideshow images, thus making the 100GB image a fake (come to think of it, the last image - the one with the words 250 MB - may also be a fake). So for now, I guess it'd be safer to file this story under "Rumors". If you have polished on your German, check out Boris Schneider-Johne statement here.

MS needed to release a upgraded hard drive. wonder how much the 100 gig is going to be since the 20 gig is still $100.00.

thats how they get ya! lets just say its because of sony. they are both trying to one up the competition. 1080p ha! we can do that blu-ray -ha! hd dvd live online ha! free online "microtransactions" 20gig and 60gig ha!100gig world wide launch oh!you got me the list goes on and on but whatever i will not buying it if 20gig is $100.00 the 100 must like $250 why does this gen it seems like add-onz are the way to go i cant call it, i guess the industry is changeing. remember 32x,or the thing for the 64 the Expansion Pak. or hd for the ps2.the gen seems chock full of patches upgrades, down grades, add-onz , microtransaction , yearly subsriptions ,inovation and lack thereof. i wonder what next-gen going to be like.

blu ray is better then hd dvd. and ps3 is 600$ and come with blu ray 60 gig free online and its better then xbox360 the 100 gig is about 300$ wow add that up 300 100 gig 400 xbox360 200 hd dvd about 900
...$100-$150, with a price cut on the 20GB HDD.
it will probably cost the same as the 20 gb ($100), and will come with the premium 360 eventually
you can see at the bottom of the MB unit it says 64.its a little blurry but its there.
if you look at the text on the left hand side it says 256MB also if you look at the 100G HD it right below the shoulder of the guy under the 256 its has 100. Too bad i cant read Korean to translate the rest of it.
Is this just for people who think they need all that space (which they don't, I've never had less than 4 GB of space left and that's with tons of videos I could've easily deleted)? Or will there be a need for all that space down the road?
my old xbox has a ton a xbox games on its 500 gig hardrive so when the 360 is fully hacked (and i know my 360 wont break when its firmware is changed) ill might get a bigger hardive for games but that wont happen for a while the 3 red light thing is putting me off.
What are you going to put on a 100 gig HDD? Isn't that kind of overkill?

I understand it is a 64meg with 256 written on it. whats to say that they are not in production yet and have not been made and they just put 256 on an existing 64meg card. If you look at the photos they have 256 MB and stuff in Korean as well as the photo with the 100G HD, it show what looks like 100 with Korean next to it.
20GB 360 60GB PS3 Difference Roughly 40GB more for PS3. Now 100GB coming out. I guess you can say it had something to do with it nothing to get all crazy for. 500GB 2.5" Sata HDD for the PS3 FTW!!! And its cheaper.
F*CK YEAH! lol thats been my reasoning all along. you can easily upgrade the PS3 one yet M$ has forced you into buying their harddrives. unless you have a cunning plan to crack open the 20 gig and swap it out lol
a 100gb laptop drive that the Xbox360 uses cost on average 130 bucks. A 20gb drive cost on average 50 bucks. This is the cost that you would see from dealers and not retail. Retail price of a 100gb drive is 150-180 Retail for a 20gb is 50-60 The 100Gb drive will cost around 200 bucks after MS does their markup and the Gamestores get their markup as well. You have to consider that Microsoft will take a cut from every sale of the HDD. And then stores purchase them wholesale and charge the suggested retail price. Did you know a store has their choice of marking up anything they see fit. Thats why they were allowed to force people to purchase bundles. Theres nothing against the Law that says they cant do it. Thats why a 20gb HDD for the Xbox360 cost 100 bucks. The HDD itself is probably 40 bucks. Then the custom enclosure another,20 bucks. Microsofts cut from the sale, 20 bucks. Stores cut of the sale, 20 bucks. Then the governments cut of the sale, TAX. So do you really think the 100GB will be 100-150? not anytime soon, maybe in 8-10 months. Do you need 100GB? Hell yes you do. the HD version of a Movie is in excess of 10GB if its in 1080i or 1080p. 720p movies seem to stand around 8-10 GB. When trailors are ranging from 200-500 MB in size for a 5 min 720p video. Space becomes the limiting factor.

Anyway meh. This 100gb HDD will cost around £120 in the uk i recon, and i dont think most people will pay that for an extra 80gb memory. Sony got it right this time by just using the standered HDD, so that you can just buy a 300gb HDD from www.scan.co.uk or www.microdirect.com and install it yourself :)
this is most likely a fake. it wouldnt make sense to release 100gb drive. who would need that? could u imagine the price if 20gb is $100?
the 20 gig will be a year and a half old by the time this comes out.. and technology has a way of becoming much cheaper in a year/replacing an old product with a new improved one for the same price.
well yes it looks written on clearly.. and on the 264mb memory card it is clearly written on, and you can see 64mb on the bottom of the mem. card if you make the picture larger.

at activision i played cod3 and their xbox 360's had 100 gig hard drives on them so i doubt this is fake
The text on the hard drive and memory card is at a very bad angle, not as blurry as the photo and it is just a terrible photoshopped 2 minute job. Who-ever made it needs a slap.
That will be to expensive to justify purchase when you can just get an external HD or Ibook with more space for the same price if not cheaper. Im getting an Ibook for my PS3 because you can install the new Yellow Dog Linux on it.
