DICE 08: Blizzard lists cancelled games throughout company's history - Image 1

It may not be breaking news, but you might want to be let in on the buzz. Blizzard Entertainment's CEO, Mike Morhaime - together with Rob Pardo, Senior VP of Game Design, and Frank Pearce, Executive VP of Product Development - were highlighted in DICE 08's Summerlin Ballroom event yesterday.

They were speaking in a segment tackling the company's history, when they revealed to the audience a list of games they've canceled throughout the company's existence:
  • Games People Play
  • Crixa
  • Shattered Nations
  • Pax Imperia
  • Denizen
  • Warcraft Adventures
  • Nomad
  • Raiko
During the segment Blizzard entitled "From Developer to Worldwide Publisher", however, Blizzard did not explain or expound on the reasons why the games were cancelled. However, Pax Imperia II was known to have been sold to THQ back in the late 90s, and we may remember it coming to life as Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain (and what a beaut it was!).

Warcraft Adventures just didn't agree with Blizzard's tastes - we were told that for sure. But Blizzard hasn't listed StarCraft: Ghost either and that should be reason to celebrate. Though its development ground to a halt, at least we know it isn't officially cancelled. This blogger just wishes that somehow, somewhere, Blizzard is already working on Diablo III.
