Mike Morhaime: No plans for WoW on the consoles - Image 1World of Warcraft on the Xbox 360? The thought has crossed the gamers several times in the past, and even then, Blizzard held strong in saying that their games (WoW in particular) would remain planted on the PC.

With Vivendi's upcoming merger with Activision, however, could we be revisiting Blizzard's titles on the consoles? Blizzard Entertainment's co-founder Mike Morhaime stated his company's plans in light of this possibility during a recent press con:

We currently donÂ’t have any plans right now on the console side. BlizzardÂ’s focus is on the PC side. If we were to release anything on the console side, that would be managed by the Blizzard side of the business.

Morhaime further stated that they (Blizzard) currently had no plans bringing any of their franchises to the consoles. There you have it - cast aside thoughts of Starcraft 2 or WoW on your next-gen, at least until Blizzards rethinks their plans.

On the other hand, the Activision side of this union is already brainstorming plenty of other possible sequels to their current hits. Anybody up for a fourth encore of Guitar Hero?
