Activision Barks Back at PETA on Call of Duty: World at War - Image 1

Nooooo! Fido's in there!

War is hell, for attack dogs and humans alike. Just because dogs happen to be cuddlier than humans doesn't mean that they were spared the horrors of war. Activision has responded back to PETA's complaint about killing hostile attack dogs in Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS), saying:

In order to create believable, real-world scenes and heighten the game playing experience, Call of Duty: World at War depicts the ruthless and gritty combat of World War II.

Dogs are included in the game for authenticity since they were used extensively by German, Japanese, U.S. and Soviet troops during the war. Activision in no way endorses or condones cruelty to animals, and we donÂ’t believe the game will encourage cruelty in any way.

Cooking Mama then burst into the scene and made vegetarian dishes for everybody. And they all lived happily ever after.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about:

» Enough already!

Is there ANYTHING that PETA and liberals won't cry about these days? It's like everything is offensive to everyone, no matter what.

» o_o

Since when were virtual animals protected by PETA anyways?

by rollypoly - 2009-03-23 09:35
» kinda

everything is offensive to someone... it's just a fact of life.

you just can't keep everyone happy all the time so why bother trying? "to shut them up" is usually the answer... which is a piss poor reason to do anything.

either everything is okay or nothing is...

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"Is there ANYTHING that PETA and liberals won't cry about these days?"

» "GRRRRRR"

these over sensitive remarks are a cry for attention.......a way to get publicity.........which is a cheap shot to COD as a stepping stone to call wolf and cry their as$es off

I shot the crap out of the resident evil 5 dogs, i knife that thing to death, blow it up with a rocket launcher, if they allowed it I'd skin those poor bastards

just to piss PETA off I send them a picture of a dog impale in mid air with a stake.......MUHAHAHAHA

That'll give them a real reason to cry about

» PETA Should stck to what they do best..

...getting really hot women to pose naked in order to persuade us not to wear fur.

for goodness sake, I can head-shot someone in COD, I can kill someone with a syringe in Manhunt, and I can watch a child having lead poured into his eyes in Slumdog Millionaire..

...but shoot at a virtual dog and I get castigated?

This is not liberalism. It is completely the opposite, like a kind of politically correct BS fascism...

..you WILL be nice to puppies, OR ELSE!!

» Interesting.

Thus, you are part of the problem.

Your mentality is exactly the type PETA sets it's sights on - the immature, morally skewed one. In all honesty, we all know that PETA isn't aiming directly at the game, it's directed at the dolts that play the game and find humor or misguided entertainment out of shooting an animal.

Comments like yours just fuels PETA to boost their message across the media spectrum - it isn't long before some sensationalisti c local news network pegs all video games as a socialpath's playground.

As I said, if you aren't part of the solution...

» Actually...

Actually, there *IS* something that PETA and liberals won't cry about: the killing of HUMANS in Call of Duty: World at War. ....That's ok. Perfectly fine for kids of all ages. But killing dogs? --Hell, no!! ...I would image that Activision could release "Call of Duty: Baby Carnage Edition" and that would be alright, ...as long as no dogs were depicted killed. :-O

» its all crap

PETA is a good group. it's just a shame that they would actually pull this crap. no one looks at the context anymore

COD has dogs you have to kill which is cruel....um ok, maybe if they were you know....real

RE5 is racist because you shoot black african zombies. ok

wheres all the white people crying racism over every resident evil before that.

people piss me off

» Liberal's...

These guys aren't even liberals. They're like... like... Nazi liberals, forcing their "liberal" views onto others and attacking anything "evil" in their point of view. And I consider myself a liberal.

by Farnesworth - 2009-03-24 03:50
» Well..

PETA probably started as a good group. But nowadays they have become so radical that they have done stuff like telling children that drinking milk is bad for them. And generally they like targeting children. I mean, it's sort of an evil corporation who relies on lies and shock to manipulate people into believing whatever they say to believe.

Oh well, I'm sure there is another group out there actually watching out for the animals while PETA is out getting naked and lieing to children.

I know I know, anti PETA source has little credibility, but I'm lazy and it's the first one to show the milk thing.

» This is just ridiculous

They should be focusing on the real life soldier who threw a puppy off a cliff. I just wanted to punch that guy.

by MikeyMike01 - 2009-03-24 17:28
» .

PETA... the best animal rights group to slaughter hundreds of animals.

by xche78x - 2009-03-24 20:31
» yeah im amazed too

PETA complained about the dog killing...

shouldnt they complain first about those TORCHED human bodies using the flamethrower or those lethal shots from bullets?
