Of course, there's a small catch. You need to be able to know someone who has a full version of the game. When you've got that settled, all it takes is a message from them to let you download the demo for free. Kind of like that Virtual Console gifting thing, only that it doesn't require any moolah on their part.
Of course, there's some bad news to go along with the good. The demo version only allows players to play classic Dr. Mario multiplayer matches against friends only - and yes, that means friend codes. Other than that, there is no single player campaign or any way to play the game offline. Ah, well.
