Wii's lack of hardware flaws impresses gamers

Nintendo Wii - Image 1A good number of gamers believe the Nintendo Wii's initial quality and stability is solid, according to a press release. Unlike other systems that often come with flaws at launch, survey says consumers have no problems with the white hot console.

"The Nintendo Wii has really surprised alot of people. The fun begins right when you take it out of the box," U.S. Gaming analyst Alan Peterson said. Out of 250 gamers from the West Coast who were asked about the Nintendo Wii's quality, 82% were confident with its stability and would consider purchasing it.

It's no secret that the Microsoft Xbox 360's earlier units suffered from the infamous red ring of death, and the giant company had to address the problem by pushing for better motherboards such as the Zephyr and Falcon. Reports concerning the Wii, however, often involve broken TV screens because of flying Wii Remotes.

only 82 out of 250? hmmm...

I had to send mine in because my component cable didn't work correctly. They replaced the motherboard and that solved the issue.

Sucked, though, since that meant I had to have everyone change my friend code and now my old Mii's can't be edited (although I can use an editor on the PC and transfer them back as editable).

But still, component should have worked out of the box.

Other than that, no complaints.

The article said 82%, 82 PERCENT. Not 82 of 250 Poeple, but 82% of 250. Which would come around 205 of 250.

the 360 and ps3 tried for better graphics and hardware, while wii still has ps2 graphics. Which do you find more stable? using similar technology that has been done and tested for a period of time or technology that is closer to the unknown territory? thus this is a logical outcome, in this case, the comparison doesn't mean any are better than the other since the objective of the systems weren't the same.

Wii has graphics similar to the Xbox, not the Ps2

Huh. You would have thought the initial firmware problems, the GPU cooking itself and Opera crashing would have caused more of a ruckus.

Er, though I guess Opera wouldn't exactly fit into "hardware flaws".

The only system with significant hardware problems is the 360. They're really generalizing by saying that the other consoles on the market come with hardware flaws.

I wonder how they got this info. By asking 250 people a yes or no question about the Wii?

When you ask the average person about buying a console, they usually won't think of the hardware flaws, they'll think about the benefits the console carries with it.

Sure, using 6 accelerometers and an infrared camera per controller set is very familiar territory...

In addition, who was asked? I assume that included biased gamers? With that in mind 82% is pretty darn good.

More lies and BS from Mr. nonsense!

"Most Wii systems barely get used"

Lie!

"most Wii owners have only 1-3 games"

Lie! Mostly because you speak out your rear end. Even if true, so? Means nothing in this topic. You can have only ONE game and play the Wii 12 hours a day.

"Nintendo's using old Gamecube technology"

Lie! Close, but not close enough to be called "the same".

"Even the 360 is getting close in reliability."

Lie! "Closer" but not close.

For the 1,628th time.....supply proof or facts of what you claim as fact. Here's to the 1,629th time!
