Wiimote wackiness with WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Ó

show 'em your smooth movesDo you love playing party games like Twister? The game where you end up knotted like a pretzel, which will most probably lead to a trip to your chiropractor. Well, if so, you should definitely try WarioWare: Smooth Moves, the latest from the WarioWare franchise.

In earlier articles, some of the silly positions and tasks were described. Tasks range from the bizarre to the just plain weird.  It's not as easy as one would think, it takes a bit of practice. Familiar faces make cameos in the game, like the Super Mario Bros, Metroid Prime, and others.

In the single player mode, you get to choose between the characters and travel around Diamond City. The characters include Wario and Mona from the WarioWare series and others like Cricket the Kung Fu Trainee. Each character has a different type of gameplay and follows their own story and tasks. After completing the tasks, additional games and multiplayer options - including the rest of the cast - are unlocked.

Oh, if you're wondering why we asked whether you like party games, this will hopefully answer the question. There are a number multiplayer modes, and you and 11 of your friends can play using just one controller. So who wants to party? You'd have to be a marble statue to keep a straight face while playing and/or watching somebody else play this game. It's silly and light family fun.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves will be launched across Europe on January 12, 2007 at an estimated retail price of around US$ 65.

I can't wait for this game, to be honest I'm gutted it's not ready for Christmas... That would have been a blast.
