Wiimote strap saga continues: new straps untested says Green Welling

Ó

wii strapsWe hate court battles, unless one of the lawyers is Captain Kirk. But news is news so here goes the latest chapter in the class action suit against Nintendo.
As you probably know, unfortunate incidents caused by the Wiimote's faulty strap design have been popping up like zits on Nintendo's face. Last we heard, Nintendo poo-poohed the class action suit since the company vowed to replace 3.2 million Wii straps with tougher Wiimote straps free of charge. So that should be the end of that.

But Green Welling is not so easy to please. The law firm claims the replacement straps are untested and therefore may not necessarily fix the problem. Plus they are looking into the damages inflicted by flying Wiimote's on windows, plasma TVs, and other items. This is not covered by the current lawsuit and could be another headache for Nintendo. If Erin Brokavich is looking for a sequel, this could be it.

Note to editor: Leave the Captain Kirk and Erin Brockovich references out of your next report. Write the story and stop trying to be funny.

So if Panasonic sell me a TV remote and I throw it into my TV screen, is Panasonic to blame?

*****ing lawsuits all the bastard time.

Grow up you daft *****s.

If you hit someone in the face with the controller then either

a) you are a stupid bastard, or

b) the person who got it is

If you threw the controller into your TV/Window/whatever then you are a stupid bastard.

Maybe there should be a health check before being allowed to purchase a Wii - if you are retarded & unable to hold a controller then you should be refused (and ideally put down).

I may not have used those words, but the idea stays the same. I agree with you. I want to know the stupid asses who are letting go of the controllers and then have the nerve to sue the company who made the controller.

The people who let go of their controllers are to blame. If I were playing my Wii, let go of my controller into my car, cost me hundreds to repair it, and lots of inconvieniency, do i sue Nintedo for the repairs to the car and "trauma?" **** no. I'd admit it was my fault. I think sony might have seen this b/c their original controller was a boomerang. If you accidently let go of it (or threw it out of the window cause you hate PS3) it comes right back :D.

^^what he said. Playing the Wii with a reasonable degree of excitement doesnt require gamers to mutate into speed-driven wild maniacs with a complete lack of limb control...Take it easy and get a job if u need money. Sheesh
