Wii console - Image 1Before we hear the tired "Not another Wii modchip" groans from the guys, hear this news out. Team Wiifree has just released version 1.2 of their Wiifree modchip, and it should be the most affordable chip out in circulation - because this WABCheap mod-based chip (we mean its software coding) is reportedly free, and still carries some of the bare-bones essential features that updated Wii modchips should carry:
  • Run gamecube originals
  • Run Wii originals
  • Run Wii backups
  • Support for D2A and D2B
  • Support for 12F629 and 12F683 chips (the installation for the 12F683 is the same as the 12F629)
While the ever-important D2B support is there, console owners may notice the lack of GC backup games support and Stealth Mode - the latter is available in Wiinja, Cyclowiz.

where can i buy this

» Look...

It isn't about cost, yes the wii-key, cyclowiz maybe slightly expensive (well actually it costs less then an actual wii game). If you can afford to buy a wii game, buy a wii key first and then download as many games are you like. If you want something good (not saying that the free model isn't good but, i would prefer to download multi-regional games etc) go pay good money.

But nice work Wiifree modchip Team!

"hmm i've had negative experiences with first gen chips, i'd rather wait"

You must of either soldered wrongly or bought a fake. Buy a mod-chip from the actual RESELLERS of the mod chip brand. They list them on the site, do not ebay it or go to other gaming sites to buy them. Buy it off the actual reseller.

And follow the tutorials/directions the mod-chip site give on how to install your mod chip....they advise NOT TO bridge connections, i think.
