WiiDoom: Doom port for the Wii |
Ó

Doom, the landmark game in the history of first-person shooters, has now been ported to the Wii thanks to the efforts of Wiibrew developer lnuxguy. The port was made using the open source PrBoom engine.
Right now, a bug requires you do disconnect and reconnect the nunchuk once Doom loads, but this "a temporary bug" as described by the author, so we can expect this to be resolved in future versions. Controls aren't customizable yet so be sure to read the documentation for more information on the program.

Okay, it's been sitting in the Homebrew channel, loading WiiDoom for a good ten minutes now, at 0%.
Maybe I'm not installing it right. I have it set up so my SD Card is like this:
root\apps\WiiDo om
root\prboom
WiiDoom shows up in the Homebrew channel, but like I said, it's stuck at loading. Anyone know what's going on?
Never mind, I got it working through the Twilight Hack. Wish there was a way to leave the game back to the Wii menu though..
Anyway, very well done! Couldn't figure out how to switch it to something higher than 8-bit graphics, but still very playable. All it really needs is the ability to switch weapons and view the map. I'll be putting my copies of the original Doom wads in there later... :3
