Wiibrew video: GoldenEye 007 N64 working on Homebrew Channel

Great news from the Wiibrew front! Although we haven't heard much on Wii64's development (the Nintendo 64 emulator for the Wii) lately, it seems that one guy (or gal) didn't need it. In a posted video, this gamer managed to run the classic Nintendo 64 game GoldenEye 007 on the Wii Homebrew Channel, with few hitches.

According to the poster, this is a Virtual Console inject using the Sin and Punishment WAD. The poster didn't go on to say just how it was done, but as you can see from the video, it was managed somehow. "The secret is the opcodes," the poster said.

Some doubters cry fake, but personally I want to believe it's real simply because it's GoldenEye 007. I just wish Nintendo would hurry it up and release it on the Virtual Console already. The poster's description says that:

It's working for the most part. Saving is broken, it doesn't remember anything if you exit. It also has occasional slow downs. Multiplayer worked with two players, I haven't tried with three or four.

Is it the real thing then? We'll probably hear more on this soon. Here's the video for your perusal:

Since it's highly unlikely Goldeneye will be released on any console anytime soon, I'm definately looking forward to doing this myself.

First off i'm new here, this is my first post, and now to the point of this post.

The game has already been released, and M$ have no right to sue over this game, and as to Nintendo being greedy they may be so but why do you care?

What the hell? How has it taken you guys (QJ) this long to find out about WAD injecting?? I've had an injected WAD of Smash Brothers 64 on my wii for over a month now. For anyone wondering, the game shows up just like a virtual console game would, it takes up a channel space and has to be installed.

For anyone who already knew that, Good for you :-D

if you wont so friggin retarded youd have realised

that 007 never used to work when injecting it into a wad

and that further modification was needed for it to work

hence this article talking solely about 007

and not injecting wads, it mentions it but its not the news

so next time read the friggen post K

I don't understand why you feel the need to insult me just for posting something which you can choose to ignore, if you don't like it, keep your pathetic comments to yourself. Next time you have the urge to make yourself look better than anyone else, you might want to use a spell checker, and touch up on your grammar. In fact, just go back to school, or are you still in pre-school?

are you kidding me???

You come on here telling everyone how they are "so behind" with things, and that if they were smart they would have already posted about this. EMCP posted up to let you know that WAD injection is NOT the news, but that injecting GOLDENEYE IS the news!

For whatever reason you took that to be a flame and have taken it personally. When really you should be embarrassed that you jumped to conclusions and tried to make us look like fools. Man up and accept that your a clown, or bugger off. You wont find sympathy on here with an attitude like that.

"The game has already been released, and M$ have no right to sue over this game"

MS owns the rights to Goldeneye, since it's a Rare game.
