Wii Web Server v0.4 alpha now with Front SD support - Image 1

Cboomf and Felix123 released the first version of Wii Web Server sometime ago. Back then, it only had the capability of displaying its own built-in web content. But with Wii Web Server alpha version 0.4 , the homebrew application became a little more accommodating for custom content.

The authors had added support to allow Wii Web Server alpha v0.4 to load HTML pages from an inserted SD card. There's no way of configuring what pages it will load, however, as the application is bent on loading the HTML files from a fixed directory on the front SD card.

Also, there's little way for you to configure how it displays the content, but that's about to change soon. Right now, the changes since v0.21 alpha are:

alpha v0.4
  • Front SD html only, loading support XD
alpha v0.31
  • Favicon added
alpha v0.3
  • Added wiimote support
  • Added image support
  • Added /img image test link
alpha v0.24b
  • Bug fixes for 0.24a
  • //a is now back to /a, but //quit is still there for other reasons
alpha v0.24a
  • Fixed the main page hyperlink to //a
alpha v0.24
  • Changed /a to //a and /quit to //quit to avoid conflicts
  • Request parser rewritten, now quicker and more streamlined
alpha v0.23
  • Now doesn't have to restart the server to serve more than one page (i.e [pressing] B then A)
  • Quitting the server is from a server path of "/quit"
alpha v0.22
  • Handles links
The developers advise that all HTML files are to be uploaded into the /data/web/ directory from the root of your SD card. And since Wii Web Server is a Homebrew Channel launcher-compatible application, that would usually mean the same SD card the HBC applications are set up in.
