Wii Weather up and running by December 20 *UPDATE* |

Just as promised, new channels are being made available for the holidays, and in fact, Nintendo has just announced that the Wii's Weather Channel will finally be available by December 20. This announcement appears in the videos section of their website, and is accompanied by a video which demonstrates how the Weather Channel will work. Sadly, we can't seem to embed the video, so here's a screenshot of it instead.Despite it being rather late, the new feature is still a welcome development, and one can't help but wonder if perhaps this could be the first dose of the Holiday Wii surprise that Nintendo is cooking up for its users... but then again, we could just be getting our hopes up. Either way, just click on the "Read" link below to see the video and the announcement for yourself, in case you don't want to take our word for it.
Now, if only they'd hurry up with the News Channel as well...

got the update this morning - its really fun to go weather watching aroung the world - it moves a bit like google earth but without the detail

omg just saw the blue light on the wii, updated, there it is! it kicks ass, i can check all the cities my relatives live in in like less than 10 seconds spinning the earth with the wiimote kicks ass

Well I manually updated this morining to get weather. Then a few minutes after I updated it, Nintendo sent me a message telling me that I could update to get it.
