Eternal Champions - Image 1Nintendo has announced that gamers in both Europe and Australia will be getting Phantasy Star 2 (Sega Genesis) and Eternal Champions (Sega Genesis) on the Wii Virtual Console service. Both games will be available for 800 Wii points.

Fans of slower paced games will probably want to check out Phantasy Star 2. This role playing game was first released back in 1989 and was generally well received by the critics. RPG fans can't go wrong with this title considering its solid character-driven storyline and strategy based battle system.

Those who prefer a more active approach to their gaming may want to consider picking up Eternal Champions. This fighting game didn't gain much popularity though it did implement quite a number of innovations including stage fatalities, reflective projectiles and even a power bar which got slowly used up with every super move. While these are pretty common nowadays, it might be good to know that this game originally came out back in 1993.

So whether you're looking for an RPG or a fighting game, it looks like Nintendo's got your back with this recent update.
