Wii successor needs to be appraised; Wii MotionPlus will be cheap |
Ó
A few days ago, Nintendo prez Satoru Iwata revealed that the Wii's successor is already in the works. Just recently too, he admitted to the Wall Street Journal that work started on Wii 2 ever since the dev team was done with the first one. With that in mind, we go back to the question we asked earlier: can it live up to the expectations set by the first-generation Wii? Iwata, at least, is making sure it's up to par. Speaking to the WSJ:
The hardware team started work on the next thing as soon as they were done with their previous project, but what they think up doesn't necessarily become a product. We only turn something into a product after it's been thoroughly vetted inside the company. We're not at a point where we can give specifics, but of course we're working on it.
So we can at least be sure that it's not just "a kind of box that consumers reluctantly but in order to play our games," which is how he described it earlier.
In the same interview, Iwata also reveals that the Wii MotionPlus will be sold for cheap, and that games that will be utilizing the accessory will be coming. We already know one of them at least: Wii Sports Resort.
We're going to try to offer it for as little as possible. We haven't announced the price yet, but the cost of making the Wii MotionPlus is not that much, so I think we can make it very affordable.

but I told you so MCS. Nintendo is at this very moment spending those mountains of money you like to harp on about on DEVELOPMENT and have been doing so since long before the Wii was released. Now kindly shut your gob and go troll somewhere else.
We also know that Red Steel 2 will be using the Wii Motion+
"we go back to the question we asked earlier: can it live up to the expectations set by the first-generation Wii?" Why go back to a question that can't possibly be answered and only pondered over? You want more pondering? That's awesome news about the motion+. I'll probably only buy one plus the one that will come with "Resorts". Until they decide whether or not they'll make new remotes with this included.
But that development is going to the NEXT console to be released once the Wii is no longer profitable to manufacture. Most likely obsolete hardware and a brand new gimmick. When Nintendo stops making $100+ on each Wii, they will immediately drop support for the old Wii and focus everything on the next Gamecube variant that sells for far more than manufacturing costs. It's been done before. Sure the new Wii will meet MY expectations, because they are soooo low.
You're thick. Lets see, since the Wii has been released they've developed and released the Wii Balance Board, developed and will soon release the Motion+, and are in the process of developing an as yet unrevealed solution for the low capacity storage on the Wii. Yeah, it sure sounds like they've stopped development on the Wii alright. As for your comment about obsolete hardware, everything that's on shelves now is already obsolete. Technology is constantly evolving, you either live with it, deal with it, or complain about it. You seem to do a lot of complaining.
As usual his comment is based on NO real information. Just the fantasy crap in his head. Motion+ is coming out for the Wii. Not the next Nintendo console. Quit talking out your rear end. Just as Xastabus stated, Nintendo is spending R+D on their current console.
Wait wait wait! I thought the Wiimote was supposed to be the next big thing in games! It was SUPPOSED to bring about a change in the way we played bringing immersion to a whole new level! If ISOHaven didn't have Nintendo's wang so far up his glory hole that we had to shield our eyes every time he spoke up, he'd realize that Nintendo made a huge mistake and is trying to push gimmick after gimmick after gimmick to make up for it. What good is the Wiimote when a regular controller will do just fine? What good is the WiiFit board when it was designed with one specific game in mind? What good is the Motion+ system when it's not backwards compatible AND brings nothing new to gameplay mechanics? "OMG BUT YOU MOVE THE CONTROLLER!" Does that change the fact that the game will ultimately depend on design and gameplay rather than gimmicks?
The WiiMote HAS changed the way games are played. The thing is, you either like it or you don't. Or maybe you just don't care but then again, in that case, you don't matter. For those that do like it, which clearly outweigh those that don't, they are having a ton of fun with it. As for your comment on a "regular" controller working just fine, in that case, why do we have: 1. Rumble 2. Wireless 3. Audio Support 4. More and more and more buttons 5. Motion sensing (PS3) By your narrow words alone then, all current controllers fail and that includes MS and Sony. So ultimately you seem to have no point. The balance board was NOT designed with one game in mind. Motion+ DOES bring new mechanics to gameplay. What rock have you been under? Put all that together and what we have here is a fat lot of ignorance.....on your part. In the end, it's nice to know that I strike such a large cord with you that you are willing to show everyone your true colors. Thanks!
hopefully the next wii actually has up to date hardware.
...to 360/PS3 fanboys making feeble attempts at poking fun at the Wii because it's not as powerful as their consoles. What's all this about 'gimmicks'? A gimmick is something unnecessary, something that could be done without. The Wiimote is a necessity for the majority of games on the Wii. I also still can't believe how stupid Mister Common Sense is. Even when he is proven wrong and totally shot down in flames, he insists on being a pest. Just stop it, because you are embarrasing yourself, you absolute idiot. For those of you still confused by what the MotionPlus offers (that's you, Orlyeh), allow me to explain. The Wiimote by itself contains an accelerometer, which detects velocity. It does not detect rotation; The MotionPlus handles this. So combining the two results in an incredibly accurate on-screen representation of player movement, with both rotation and velocity being calculated.
"What's all this about 'gimmicks'? A gimmick is something unnecessary, something that could be done without." Uh, that's why the Wiimote (and all the other UNNECESSARY accessories) is a gimmick! It is not needed in any way to control any type of game. I think a traditional controller works better in 99.9% of games. Nintendo needs crap like this to sell overpriced consoles since they can't compete in the real video game world anymore. Motion plus offers something new for Nintendo to sell when it should have been incorporated in the first place. That way they can stay "innovative," if you're an idiot anyway.
"Lets see, since the Wii has been released they've developed and released the Wii Balance Board, developed and will soon release the Motion+, and are in the process of developing an as yet unrevealed solution for the low capacity storage on the Wii." They are interested in developing CRAP that they can sell for profit. Realistically, the balance board only works for a couple games and costs $90. Thanks for the favor Nintendo! Plus current balance board owners will need more games to play after getting tired of the unimpressive Wii-fit pack in "game." Now they can make more crap games with balance board support as an excuse to use the accessory! Nintendo is great at marketing and really knows how to screw people. The motion plus should have been in the "revolutionary" wii mote since the beginning. Iwata states "We haven't announced the price yet, but the cost of making the Wii MotionPlus is not that much, so I think we can make it very affordable." That means you can expect that POS to sell for $20, maybe more. They say they are developing a storage solution to a problem THEY CREATED with the design. Since there's no plans for a hard drive and Nintendo actually said they will not sell YET ANOTHER add-on, it's unlikely to solve the problem completely. Then again, there really isn't anything worthwhile to download on the Wii, so problem solved! "As for your comment about obsolete hardware, everything that's on shelves now is already obsolete." No s*it. The problem with the Wii is that it was 8 YEARS obsolete upon release! For hardware that obsolete, it should not cost more than $100 at most. Again, the Wii has always been a horrible value. "Motion+ is coming out for the Wii." Really? I must have "lied" about that somehow, in a way only iso-braindead understands. "Not the next Nintendo console. Quit talking out your rear end. Just as Xastabus stated, Nintendo is spending R+D on their current console." Some commitment there! They finally "officially" completed the Wii-mote design, just with extra add ons and cost involved. Thanks Nintendo for your intense dedication to sell more crap for profit! You guys are just too easy. Next!
The Wiimote IS necessary for a lot of games, and improves the experience in certain games. For instance, Pro Evo 2008 on Wii is the best football game ever, thanks to the Wiimote controls. Metroid Prime 3 adds to the experience with perfect aiming and motion controls. The Godfather, once a sub-standard PS2 game, is a very good Wii game, thanks to the implementation of Wiimote controls. Mario Kart Wii offers more precise handling than any other kart racer, thanks to Wiimote controls. I think these examples are proof enough that the Wiimote is not a gimmick. Also, be careful what you say, because your precious Microsoft are working on a rip-off of the Wiimote. As for MotionPlus, I don't know why they didn't include it straight away. Maybe they wanted to gradually introduce players into a new type of control. Maybe they decided that the Wiimote was not sufficient for creating a 1:1 experience, like a lot of consumers (and developers) want. "Nintendo needs crap like this to sell overpriced consoles since they can't compete in the real video game world anymore." In case you haven't noticed, they are leading this console generation. Your ignorance has no end, does it?
"Uh, that's why the Wiimote (and all the other UNNECESSARY accessories) is a gimmick! It is not needed in any way to control any type of game. I think a traditional controller works better in 99.9% of games." Listen to you man ! I guess this is the sum of all your stupidity and blind fan boyish outcry that clearly has nowhere to turn to anymore. How can the Wiiremote not be needed in any game ? Are we dreaming here ? I don't even intend to mention all the games that not only wouldn't be the same without it, but they would not be possible at all. And while you are so mad and so disgusted at Nintendo's choices, you can't deny that once again they are leading the industry by setting new standards that I bet both MS and Sony are spending millions on trying to rip off and come out with their version of the Wiiremote without making it look exactly the same. If the Wiiremote is so useless in your view, can you tell me why MS is trying to imitate it ? I will laugh real hard when such imitations of the Wiiremote will come out for your favorite consoles and you will get to play games ported from the Wii...... Then just because it's not produced by Nintendo will be something innovative and amazingly change the way morons like you play videogames ! Honestly man, get the hell out of here, your comments make no sense, how can you turn a news like this onto a tread about which controller is better ? You simply use the one you prefer, and let us other millions of satisfied Wii owners to use ours. Why do you even try to make us change our views escapes my mind. Oh I get it, you just like to plain insult people, but guess who's being trashed and insulted time and time again on these forums........you asked for it, now get out and let us share our news, I shouldn't even bother to feed the trolls nowadays, it's because pests like you that I'm enjoying these forums less and less until I will probably stat away altogether, I'd rather spend more quality time with my Wii.
Now that idiot is arguing semantics? In order for this idiot to also not be a hypocrite then he needs the SAME EXACT argument against Sony's Sixaxis and Microsoft's audio port. As well as any new motion sensing device from Microsoft. He will say ANYTHING, true or not, to make a point. "when it should have been incorporated in the first place" Says who? You? HAHAHA!!! What a joke!!! HDMI should have been INCLUDED in the first place on the 360 in order to be NEXTGEN. This guy is an A++ idiot. Here's proof of his lack of knowledge in regards to technology. He tried to claim MS beat Nintendo to the punch with motion sensing. Then I had to, "totally shot down in flames", his garbage: http://wii.qj.net/E3-2008-Microsoft-not-holding-its-breath-on-Home-not-ripping-Miis-off/pg/49/aid/122204 This guy is BEYOND being an idiot!
According to Mr. Common Douche Bag, Microsoft did the WiiMote first. Get the real story here: http://wii.qj.net/E3-2008-Microsoft-not-holding-its-breath-on-Home-not-ripping-Miis-off/pg/49/aid/122204
"They are interested in developing CRAP that they can sell for profit." That's YOUR opinion which is not shared by the masses. "Realistically, the balance board only works for a couple games and costs $90" This is where you prove to everyone that you are NOT realistic. Realistically the balance board will work with ANY game designed for it. Do you "get it" yet? "Plus current balance board owners will need more games to play after getting tired of the unimpressive Wii-fit pack in "game."" Once again, your OPINION that is not shared by most. "The motion plus should have been in the "revolutionary" wii mote since the beginning." Says who? You? HAHAHAHA!!!! This only proves how ignorant you are. It was not possible back then. Just like you claim HDMI wasn't possible yet for the 360. Do you "get it" yet? "That means you can expect that POS to sell for $20, maybe more." No, that's NOT what that means. We don't know the price yet. Also, how is it a POS? The technology used is actually very advanced. More proof that you hate anything Nintendo for no just cause. This isn't even Nintendo's technology. Yet because Nintendo's name is on it, you call it a POS? You are a moron. "They say they are developing a storage solution to a problem THEY CREATED with the design. Since there's no plans for a hard drive and Nintendo actually said they will not sell YET ANOTHER add-on, it's unlikely to solve the problem completely." To most there isn't a problem. For those that do have a problem, they're looking to add more space. There is nothing wrong with that. This way, only those that NEED to space will need to pay for more space. "Then again, there really isn't anything worthwhile to download on the Wii, so problem solved!" HAHAHAHA!!!!!! Only Mr. Common Douche Bag can cancel himself out. If there is nothing worthwhile to download then how are people running out of space? Obviously there IS stuff worth downloading. Maybe someday you'll learn to use your brain for THINKING before speaking. "For hardware that obsolete, it should not cost more than $100 at most. Again, the Wii has always been a horrible value." Yet millions on top of millions disagree with you. That speaks for itself. NDS versus NDSL, it was a small upgrade yet people pay more then $100 for the upgrade. Look pal, obviously your outlook of life in general is NOT shared by most. Which is fine, but at some point in time you need shut your mouth and let other people speak their mind without you interjecting with your nonsense. "Really? I must have "lied" about that somehow, in a way only iso-braindead understands." Well, let me quote you! "But that development is going to the NEXT console to be released once the Wii is no longer profitable to manufacture." Like I said, it's for the Wii, NOT the "NEXT console". So yeah, you lied. "Some commitment there! They finally "officially" completed the Wii-mote design, just with extra add ons and cost involved." Seriously? Howe many times do I need to hit you upside your head with your own fish? How many NEW VERSIONS of the 360 have been released? Each containing the tech that SHOULD HAVE been released in the first place? Give it up! YOU FAIL!
it was the mid 80's and there was a little new video console out called Nintendo Entertainment System. It has some arcade games on the system and a lot of arcade playing folks at that time all screaming "You're doing it wrong!" (including me) We were all saying that it takes the whole arcade feel away using a tiny little game's D-pad (all the Atari stuffs where different since almost all of them include a stick so it is not a real new concept to have game pad.. it was just sooooo different) ... but hey it was consider a revolutionary change. Took a while for us to adjust to and since then all game consoles follow the same design. So almost 20+ years later we are back at the similar spot. History repeats itself? I think so....
Very good analogy. I didn't know people felt that way back then. I was already used to playing games via keyboard as well as console so I had already made the transition to small buttons and so forth.
you guys realize he's just doing this so you guys freak out, which you are, which is pretty sad. As much of a troll as he is, i have to agree with him, in any game i definately prefer games that give you the option to use a GC controller (brawl, nights, etc.) or games that use the wiimote like a standard controller, ie. super paper mario. While zelda and metroid were good, i think they would've been just as good with a standard controller, motion sensing just complicates things
No. Metroid is MUCH better with the IR based Wiiremote controls, you get to pinpoint exactly where you want to shoot on screen and you get lots of movement freedom. If you want a Metroid that plays with a game cube controller just go and grab the two excellent Metroid Primes game for the GC. While they are two of my all time favorites games, I must admit the controls in Corruption are much more precise and streamlined, in fact I wish that they would come up with a Wii edition of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 with Wii controls tackled on, just like they did with RE4. It would be a good excuse to play through those magnificent games once more. While some games like brawl might play better with a classic controller, there are tons of other games that undoubtedly benefit from a Wiiremote, expecially FPS or point and click adventures. Nobody can deny that, if you do, it means that you never played either of this games, hence your sony_player nick name......
They always freak out when I show up. Even if I haven't said anything yet, they freak out, trying to predict what I'll say. I find it quite entertaining.
Nintendo got you believing the Wii mote is necessary? Wow! What a tool. Take Wii sports for instance. Tennis can be played with one, perhaps two buttons on a regular controller. Boxing, again can be played with 2 buttons, maybe an analog stick. Bowling can be played with a D pad and one button. Perhaps the Wii mote makes such mundane gameplay slightly better. The real question is why such mundane games in the first place just to support a controller? Microsoft was the first to incorporate motion sensing in a controller. This was several years before the Wii mote. Nice try, but I don't lie. Go ahead and check the link. You've lied so many times you lost all credibility. You do have some people that desperately want to believe you though.
...No-one cares what you think. You're such a hypocrite, "They finally "officially" completed the Wii-mote design". Yet the 360 didn't come with HDMI ports or HD-DVD compatibility? You had to buy an insanely expensive drive just to play HD-DVDs. And then there's the Elite... Also, just pretending you're right doesn't actually make you right. You see, in a discussion or argument, whoever is right wins the argument. "You guys are just too easy. Next!" It seems you even fail to understand the basics of conversation. Idiot.
The original NES had a little more to offer than a D pad. Things the Wii lacks, such as: Quality games (even though that was mainly the result of Nintendo's illegal exclusivity contracts with developers.) Powerful hardware, better than any other console at the time. Pricing that could be considered a value. Only a small portion of games had Mario in them (didn't have to carry the whole brand.) R.O.B! no, just joking. Those gimmicks didn't work back then. Neither did the power glove or power pad. If Nintendo released a Wii equivelant in 1985, it would have outdated, recycled Colecovision hardware, a power glove as the only controller, about 50 Mario games, ports of old 2600 games, and almost nonexistant third party support. A 1985 Wii would have failed horribly and would have bankrupted Nintendo back then.
And that's why everyone responds with a detailed essay trying to explain why I'm wrong? Yep, easy, just like I said. Is anyone else ready to step up to the plate? Most 360 owners didn't want a HD-DVD player. That made the console cheaper, come out earlier, and get a nice headstart on quality game releases. The HD-DVD had nothing to do with the games anyway. HDMI is nice, but again not needed. I use VGA because I have an open input on my TV. 1080p support was added (for free) anyway. Unlike Sony's revisions to hardware which took away features, the 360 added them. It's like saying original iPhone users were screwed when the 3G came out. They knew what the system had and bought it anyway. Now Apple should give the old phone's owners a new one by your logic, right? For better or worse, the Wii hardware will remain the same.
"The original NES had a little more to offer than a D pad. Things the Wii lacks, such as:" You obviously failed to understand. This wasn't the point. Try again. "Quality games (even though that was mainly the result of Nintendo's illegal exclusivity contracts with developers.)" 100 percent WRONG! Most of those quality games were first party titles. Contracts had nothing to do with it. What was it you said? NICE TRY! "Only a small portion of games had Mario in them (didn't have to carry the whole brand.)" That's always been the case. "R.O.B! no, just joking. Those gimmicks didn't work back then. Neither did the power glove or power pad." You REALLY need to learn how to RESEARCH!!! Those failed mostly do to price. "If Nintendo released a Wii equivelant in 1985....." Just more nonsense! IF? That's all you are, nothing but a bunch of IF's. "A 1985 Wii would have failed horribly and would have bankrupted Nintendo back then." Seeing as how that's not even possible, your point is worthless.
"Nintendo got you believing the Wii mote is necessary? Wow! What a tool." No and that had nothing to do with my post. The point to my post is that you are idiot and have no clue as to what you are talking about. The link I provided prove you talk out your ASS and LIE about anything you can just to prove a non existent point. As always you FAIL. "Take Wii sports for instance. Tennis can be played with one, perhaps two buttons on a regular controller......." Do you realize how much of a fool you make yourself out to be? Vibration, wireless, motion...none of that is needed. So why don't you spend more time crying like a baby about Sony and Microsoft products as you do Nintendo product. "The real question is why such mundane games in the first place just to support a controller?" No, the real question is why are you such a douche bag that doesn't know anything about....well, anything! Again: http://wii.qj.net/E3-2008-Microsoft-not-holding-its-breath-on-Home-not-ripping-Miis-off/pg/49/aid/122204 "Microsoft was the first to incorporate motion sensing in a controller." WOW!!!! Even after I post PROOF of how you are WRONG, here you are again spouting the same LIE. Get a life kid. "This was several years before the Wii mote. Nice try, but I don't lie." WRONG JACKASS. You lie all the time and as I already proved, Nintendo made one LONG before Microsoft. "Go ahead and check the link." The links proves you are a liar. What exactly are you trying to prove? "You've lied so many times you lost all credibility." HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since you are too stupid to click the link yourself and take a walk down memory lane I'll spell it out for you just like have to do all the time anyway: 1998 - Microsoft Sidewinder 1991 - Nintendo Game Handler
"And that's why everyone responds with a detailed essay trying to explain why I'm wrong?" People do that because it's the RIGHT thing to do. To make sure your lies and BS don't infect anyone else. "Yep, easy, just like I said. Is anyone else ready to step up to the plate?" I smack you in the head with a baseball bat every day. What makes you think you even have to ask? "Most 360 owners didn't want a HD-DVD player. That made the console cheaper, come out earlier, and get a nice headstart on quality game releases." I see, so Microsoft decided to LEAVE OUT features in order to keep the cost down on the console. Is that what you are saying? Go ahead, answer it. I'm waiting for you to step into that one! "The HD-DVD had nothing to do with the games anyway." That's mostly it's problem. "HDMI is nice, but again not needed." For more and more people, yes it is. I have about 5 percent of the wires behind my entertainment center now thanks to HDMI. Also I have a STANDARD implemented that gets me TOP QUALITY video and audio. HDMI is about as needed as the console itself. Neither are TRULY needed. The NEED part is defined by each individual. Do you "get it" yet? "I use VGA because I have an open input on my TV. 1080p support was added (for free) anyway." La-De-Da. Do you have a crap setup. Anyone here care? "Unlike Sony's revisions to hardware which took away features, the 360 added them. It's like saying original iPhone users were screwed when the 3G came out. They knew what the system had and bought it anyway. Now Apple should give the old phone's owners a new one by your logic, right?" That's not even close to what was being discussed. How it's look out their in left field? "For better or worse, the Wii hardware will remain the same." Yet new features are added all time. You fail!
Great points ISOHaven. MCS, the Xbox 360 Base system didn't come with storage of any kind. Given your complaints, we should all be outraged that they charged an additional $100 for a 20GB HDD at release or forced users to buy a measly 64MB memory card for $30-40. Bought the Premium which came with a 20GB hard drive and a wireless controller. I maxed it out in about a year after downloading a bunch of videos, demos, and DLC including the Shivering Isles expansion. So now, based on your argument, I should probably be complaining about having to shell out another $100 for the 120GB HDD I have now. Sony's Six-Axis controller didn't have rumble, a feature that we have come to expect from video game systems. Now they've released the Dual-Shock 3, based on your opinions they're just sticking us for more money we should all complain about how this wasn't available at release and how we now have to go buy new controllers. Fact: Technology is expensive. Fact: Designers do the best they can to plan for the future. Fact: There are technical limitations today that may not exist next year. Fact: Options are OPTIONAL. Like ISOHaven said, nobody's forcing you to buy anything. Don't like it, don't buy it. Microsoft employees have admitted that when Xbox 360 launched they never expected to have as much content available in the Live Marketplace as there is now. Nintendo is no different, they had no idea what the future would hold and cannot be faulted for not being clairvoyant. You can't make an argument about the way one company does business without applying that same argument to all companies of the same type. You can't make exclusionary statements and expect anyone to take your arguments seriously.
Damn dude, I could not have put that together any better myself. That had to be the single best response I've ever read on QJ or anywhere else! Well done! All excellent points!
I'm gonna have to agree with Xastabus, and ISOHaven on this one...If not for the 360 having great online play and it being placed on the wii, I'd be on the wii most of the time the only reason I even use my 360 is because of online play. The wiimote in a way has revolutionized game play. I played call of duty 3 on there and actually felt like I was holding a weapon rather than a controller that rumbled everytime I got shot at. Racing games are also immersed when it comes to wii. Hold the remote sideways and steer while holding B or something, yes it could have been better if they used the balance board as a gas petle and break or something but whatever. If the wii had good online gameplay I'd be there everyday like I said(speaking of which aren't they making some FPS thats supposed to be really fun online?)
"You guys are just too easy. Next!" "Yep, easy, just like I said. Is anyone else ready to step up to the plate?" What's this all about? You can't just pretend to win an argument. Then again, I suppose you have to simulate it somehow, seeing as you've never won one on here before. And the chances are, you never will.
That's just laughable. MCS is defending Apple with logic completely contrary to the way he treats Nintendo. Give his reactions to everything Nintendo, he should be complaining that the original iPhone didn't have 3G access. Thanks dude, you made my day.
I could bash any console maker and think of something to say. And yes, I've bashed all three. I prefer Nintendo bashing at the moment because I can't find a single thing I like about the Wii. My iPhone 3G is badass, by the way. Innovative product by an innovative company. Nintendo should take notes.
What the f*ck is a Nintendo game handler? I can't find anything on it. No link from iso-sad-man? That's PROOF it exists! on a previous page, iso-braindead said: "One page said it was released in 1991, another said 1992. Close enough." Close enough for you perhaps (hell, you even consider this proof,) but I haven't found anything regarding this controller you mention, or even what type of motion sensing it supposedly has. I doubt it was ever released, and therefore doesn't count. He can never prove me wrong, and has plenty of LIES to back up more LIES.
"The original NES had a little more to offer than a D pad. Things the Wii lacks, such as:" You obviously failed to understand. This wasn't the point. That's why it deserved to be a successful product. "Quality games (even though that was mainly the result of Nintendo's illegal exclusivity contracts with developers.)" 100 percent WRONG! Most of those quality games were first party titles. Contracts had nothing to do with it. What was it you said? NICE TRY!" Nintendo did have some of their best first party titles in the NES age, but third party contributed much more. "Only a small portion of games had Mario in them (didn't have to carry the whole brand.)" That's always been the case. Try to find a new Wii game by Nintendo that doesn't have the word "Mario" or "Wii" in it. "R.O.B! no, just joking. Those gimmicks didn't work back then. Neither did the power glove or power pad." You REALLY need to learn how to RESEARCH!!! Those failed mostly do to price." "do to price," huh? do what to the price? The power pad and ROB were console pack in accessories and were poorly supported. There was no interest in them once they were released seperately. Price was barely more than a game cost. The power glove was pricey at $90, but it had cumbersome sensors and didn't work well. "If Nintendo released a Wii equivelant in 1985....." Just more nonsense! IF? That's all you are, nothing but a bunch of IF's." If Nintendo made the same choices back then as they did with the Wii, it would be a gimmicky colecovision! Don't like my "what if" scenarios? Don't read them.
Touch screen, motion/tilt sensitive (if it's anything like the iPod Touch)... Nintendo should probably implement these into future consoles somehow.
Mr common douche bag can even succed in other areas. iPhone? You fail so bad it's pathetic!!!! I've had BOTH phones and the first phone was missing MANY common features. The same exact crap you cry about with the Wii. The new phone is ALSO missing very basic features. No cut and paste which customers SCREAMED ABOUT with the first phone and it STILL doesn't have it. Apple implimented EAS (I don't expect you to know what that is, it's big boy stuff). It's missing HALF the standard features and is missing very common implimentions such as turn off specific folder. Maybe I don't want all 6,000 email messages on my phone!!!! THINK APPLE, THINK!!! So once again, you prove how ignorant you are and what little you actualy know. So tell us again how you want Nintendo to learn to leave out common features that consumers beg for. I'd like to hear it again...
.....ignoring all your usual BS that means nothing..... "Nintendo did have some of their best first party titles in the NES age, but third party contributed much more." That still proves you wrong! It's good to know even YOU can prove yourself wrong. "Try to find a new Wii game by Nintendo that doesn't have the word "Mario" or "Wii" in it." So this is your ultimate low eh? Try to find a Wii game that doesn't have Wii in it? You are worlds biggest jackass. "The power pad and ROB were console pack in accessories and were poorly supported. There was no interest in them once they were released separately. Price was barely more than a game cost. The power glove was pricey at $90, but it had cumbersome sensors and didn't work well." Thanks for agreeing! "If Nintendo made the same choices back then as they did with the Wii, it would be a gimmicky colecovision! Don't like my "what if" scenarios? Don't read them." I have no problem with your "what if's" It's the stupidity behind them that I challenge! However, your comment here is nothing but pure BS and you are 100 percent wrong. Nintendo took a BIG risk releasing a game console with a "gimmicky" robot. The robot failed yet the console lived. So at the very least the WiiMote would have failed but the console would have lived. Welcome to a world of comparing APPLES TO APPLES and not to ORANGES.
"ISO-ANGRY!" HAHAHAHA!!!! You just feel stupid because I slammed you so far into the ground you can't see the light of day. Everyone sees your BS and your lies. Give it up. "What the f*ck is a Nintendo game handler? I can't find anything on it. No link from iso-sad-man? That's PROOF it exists!" I gave you the link you jackass. Go click on it. iso-sad-man? Is that the best you can do? HAHAHAHA!!!! "Close enough for you perhaps (hell, you even consider this proof,) but I haven't found anything regarding this controller you mention, or even what type of motion sensing it supposedly has." Yes moron, a 1 year span of SEVEN is close enough to prove it was released 7 (or 6) years sooner then the sidewinder. Again, if you are too stupid to click or cut and paste a link then that's your problem. Can you believe this everyone? This guy is so STUPID he can't even click on a link then he CLAIMS the link doesn't even exist? Talk about DENIAL!!!!! Plus he can't even use GOOGLE! What a FOOL!!!! Since you're too ROCK HEADED to admit the link exist I guess I can give it to you AGAIN: http://www.nesplayer.com/database/accessories/gamehandler.htm Are you smart enough to click on it this time? Do you know how to cut and paste? Do you need a grown up to show you how to do it? "I doubt it was ever released, and therefore doesn't count." You sure about that? It was never released? You are too stupid to know how to use Google yet you'll claim it doesn't exist? As usual I feel the need to make you look like a complete FOOL! http://cgi.ebay.com/1990-imn-control-gh-001-for-the-nes-may-be_W0QQitemZ370075181350QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp+TL0808061490r35186 In case the ebay link stops working just go to ebay and search "1990 imn control". I'm sure everyone BUT Mr. Common Douche Bag can figure it out. "He can never prove me wrong, and has plenty of LIES to back up more LIES." HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sad part is, even after I buried you here, you will continue to believe this.....HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! You are such a TOOL!
I'm sure you can bash any console and think of something to say. What you say is poorly though out and you don't treat all companies with the same criteria. More to the point, your arguments are highly inflammatory and completely baseless. You often claim that Nintendo only pays its CEO and shareholders well, but do you actually know how much anyone at Nintendo makes? Of course you don't because those figures aren't public and I'd be willing to bet you don't work in Nintendo's HR department. In the end, everything you post is simply your biased, warped, and misinformed opinion. You are a troll and nothing more. I have no more words for you as I refuse to continue arguing with a stubborn mule.
We know that MCS does his silly and biased comments on purpose and he doesn't treat every company with the same criteria. All he wants to do is start little flame wars and have fun while insulting others and others insult him..... I don't usually get upset and most of the times I don't bother to answer, but stil sometimes is so stupid and ridiculous and misinforming that I feel to rettify his comments by putting a good word out there. The fact that we know he does it on purpose though, somehow detracts the fun from flame him and prove him wrong , besides he's growing tired and he's running out of ideas so most of his comments are totally predictable. I predict he will leave these forums soon and start to infest some other places under another alias......
From the looks of it, the wii motion+ doesn't have a port to plug a nunchuck into.
You rock. :) I have to agree, the Wii is nothing more than a huge pile of gimmicks based on obsolete hardware, made to cater to soccer moms and grandpas, instead of real gamers. I have to say though, Nintendo's earlier consoles were all pwnsome, especially the SNES and the Gamecube.
Simply create additional accounts to pat himself on the back with.
Like this one? Either that, or mr_bigmouth_502 will end up with Cherry Blossom poisoning.
Yes, it does. Plus it looks like they finaly put a plug on the end so the port doesn't get all dirty: http://www.giantbomb.com/wii-motion-plus/59-25/nintendo_wii_motionplus/51-175808/
Gees, can he be anymore obvious? Gimmicks Obsolete Soccer Moms Old People SNES GameCube All points that Mr. Common Douche Bag brings up on a daily basis.
Exactly.
that can be the only explanation why anyone agrees with me. how do I know you're not isohaven? Lots of real gamers hate the Wii, deal with it.
