Wii Shop and IOS51 installer: solution to anti-homebrew firmware update |
Ó
The Wii Shop and IOS51 Installer has been
released (with two different builds to boot), which means you will be
able to use the Wii Shop Channel even without updating to the homebrew-unfriendly firmware update.Good news for Wiibrewers to say the least. Both have even been recommended by Marcan of Team Twiizers as an alternative to firmware updating.
The available builds come from developers Muzer and tona. As the name gives away, the app installs the Wii Shop Channel and the new IOS51.
There's a huge note in bold CAPS in the program's Wiibrew page, just so you know how important it is: "take out any GameCube Memory Cards/ Controllers and USB devices before installing anything." For tona's build, run the single included DOL to install. For Muzer's, load one file, then the other. Doesn't matter which comes first.

Yeah what's the difference between muzer installer from tona installer, excluding the Installing procedures that I know that's a diferent way to install both of them.
So?
Also with this Custom Firmware can I use Homebrews with a SD Memory Card and etc?
Thanks to anyone who answer this question.

As far as I can tell, the only difference besides the installation is that tona's build has signature hash checking. Not a big deal though - either's good.
Yeah, SDs should work fine.
So if i install this from my current IOS34 4.15, will Backup Loader 0.3 still work? I mean does these things overwrite the Custom IOS36 Rev 06 that i have installed? I also have Homebrew Channel beta 0.8, will that work after i update to this or do i have to update to 0.9 first?
