Wii reaches 8 million, Xbox 360 reaches 10, PS3 struggling |

Wii achieved tremendous sales in just a month. Xbox 360 sales were enough to give it 10 million flat total, while PS3 barely moved an inch. From the last console sales chart, the numbers were:
- Xbox 360: 9.71m (0.39M Japan, 6.17m America, 3.16m Others)
- Wii: 7.09m (2.46m Japan, 2.84m America, 1.79m Others)
- PS3: 3.31m (0.91m Japan, 1.44m America, 0.96m Others)
- Xbox 360: 10.00m (0.39m Japan, 6.40m America, 3.21m Others)
- Wii: 8.10 (2.64m Japan, 3.29m America, 2.17m Others)
- PS3: 3.42m (0.94m Japan, 1.49m America, 0.99 Others)
Halo 3 is right around the corner, while some hot games are coming for PS3; it's probably too early to decide, so hold on to your horses. Only time will tell if analysts are right, if Wii is just a fad and the PS3 will take over in a few years.

I thought 360 hit the 10 million mark a couple months ago. At least that's what the 360 fanboys were saying. I'm not worried about the PS3 at all. We all know what's going to happen. ;)

based on the graph (the 2nd one on the y axis is 4million) the XBox360 took considerably longer to hit that mark while the PS3 is already right on it in a shorter amount of time.
people are buying it inspite of it's pricetag and limited games library so that says a lot about the ps3... i don't really get all these forecast a doom everyone has been throwing around... compared to the 360's selling curve the PS3 is far from being dead.
if u look at the xbox 360's first few months the ps3 is matching it or doing better and it was easier for the 360 cause it didnt have to compete aginast two other consols

this system sucks. cost too much for nothing. and what more can the cell do. every time a game looks bad on the ps3 the fanboys say that developers dont know how to program for it. I think that developers have already maxed out the cell. but the 360 still have potential. all of the games that come out for the 360 always look better and better. where as thou all the ps3 games look bad with bad frame rate. face it theres nothing more the ps3 can do. all that money for nothing. thats why its selling soooooo bad now!! hahahgaaaahhhh !!

I believe the PS3 has failed this round. It isn't even half way to second place yet. And for a nintendo product to be killing it just adds salt to their wounds.
There's a lot of Sony hopefuls out there, but most already own a PS3. So hope is really all they have left.
Personally, I don't care who wins. I got all three so either way I will still have the best games to play.
Wii will stay strong until early 2008 after all 3 of their big titles Galaxy, Smash and Metroid are out, they have nothing... literally nothing to keep the momentum. After I say about Feb 2008 watch the Wii sales drop and PS3 and 360 start to gain back more ground. PS3 will only increase after this time.

LittleBigPlanet , The Agency, Assasains Creed, MGS4, Killzone 2, Saint Row 2 ( based on the interview at gamespot), FFXIII, FFXIII Versus (very different from FFXIII), possiably WarHawk, Unreal Turnament 3, and Home (it has mini games)

i think we can both agree that there are more people waiting to get one (for various personal reasons such as still enjoying their ps2s, waiting for certain games, price drops, still saving up money or working out their budget, waiting for occassions and such... my entire department here in my office are actually just waiting for their tax returns) than people actually owning a ps3... and i mean a LOT MORE people...
saying that "so hope is really all they have left" is fanboyish for someone who has been known to deny such status and even stating arguments that and judgments that are way off especially this early in the fight with the PS3 having a comparable performance to the 360 (when it came out) inspite of the presence of competitors (especially the red hot wii), lack of games, huge pricetag, lost of exclusives and such.

Where are the games that look better than Gears of War? It seems that 360 is going downhill from that. Look at Halo and Forza. They look like crap .

look at the graph... look at the slope... that line right there represents the selling rate for each console (which is what the lines is for anyway)... as i meantioned "check the graph"... look at the slope of both the 360 and the ps3 in relation to the amount of time that coulc be justly compared the first 6 or 7 months for both the 360 and ps3...

QJ next time could you please do your homework. If you actually looked into the charts on VGCharts then you would realise something different. You would realise that when you lineup the release of the PS3 to the 360 the PS3 has sold more consoles in that space of time than the 360 and is still doing to do so for now.
Now we know the Wii is a streamroller so there is no doubt there to argue about.
But again if you lineup the PS3 launch to the PS2 and PS1 launch you again will see the PS3 has sold more in the space of time since its release. The PS3 may have sold the least but it isnt selling as bad as everybody is making it out.
Next time do your research.

The PS3 is failing do you not understand that, its sales in its home stronghold of Japan are low beyond belief and its outsold in software at least 2 to 1 (360- 9,082 per week, PS3- 4,004 per week) by the 360 and the Wii is just destroying it.
The USA the 360 is leading the way hardware sales 360 - 57,692 per week, PS3 - 14,927 per week, the 360 is doing well in Japan when you compare the terrible sales of the PS3 in the USA.
The Wii is kicking the PS3s ass all the while the 360 gains from it, its that simple, and with the 360 basic pack looking like dropping to around the Wii price sooner than later and the Elite taking over as the Premium bundle The PS3 has now where to go.
And you jokers who go on about the Wii (Mainly PS3 owners) most people are opting for the Wii its as simple as that, they like the system and they like the games (which are at number 2 and 3 in the USA by the way)you go on about yer but if they run out of games blah blah blah but you know they have plenty to come and you are relying on old hat games originally from PS1 i.e MGS4 which doesent in fact look that good from what I have seen of it so far, us Wii owners laugh at you and your film player....

Why you might ask? Cause I ask gamers on XBL one simple question over and over, "what do you think of the wii and pswii"?? And only about 20% say they want a pswii and about 30% say they want a wii.
They say over and over the pswii is overpriced, has no games they want to play, and the games that are out might look a tad better, but dont flow smoothly, now these are just average gamers, but when i hear what devs. are saying basically the same thing, it rings true.
The 360 is this gens innovator, thats how gamers see it.
Another thing 360 owners like is RUMBLE and ACHIEVEMENTS. Go ahead sonee copy the 360 and use those in your system too like the MENU button.

The XBOX 360 had very limited supplies at launch, where the PS3 didn't. That's why ebay prices were very high for the 360 for 5 months, while the PS3 was down after less than one month.
Not that it matters, because it's obvious there is very little demand for the PS3.

First of all most of you guys are retarded fanboys, im not even going to address your stupidity, and second of all this information is inaccurate because Sony already announced they've sold 1.5 million in PAL territories in 9 weeks which is better then any other console(as well as broke records at launch) and it was better then the God, PS2. PS3 is off to a better start then PS2, which is the God, so what does that say? doing better then 360 in the same time frame, what does that say? Its doing ok at that high of a price..imagine later, Wait till some of the biggest franchises in the world come out, imagine that and ummmmm Sony has already lost? are you forgetting Europe and Japan hate microsoft and that they have ***** markets there which means auto lose because America isn't even the biggest market, while Japan loves Nintendo and Sony, Europe loves Sony, and while North America likes them all but loves Xbox, smallest market..microsoft isnt going anywhere soon

what I see from the graph is that each console is increasing at it's own pace. If any were decreasing, then it would be something to address, but they are not. People are saying that the PS3 has failed just like they said the PSP had failed, and that's just retarded. You don't know what will happen until it has happened, so all this speculation is just pure opinion that should not be taken seriouly, but that's just what I think and truly don't care about all of this, which is getting really out of had.
You should get whatever console you want and that should be the end of it. It's just video games anyway, right. Why get so serious... :)

The slope of the 360 at the end is 3 times steeper than that of the PS3.
I know this because of the 300,000 360s sold verse the 111,000 PS3s sold.
300,000 to 111,1111 equals 3 to 1, equals a slope 3 times steeper. How can you even remotely suggest (Quixand) that the slopes are the same?
don't you all understand? we all stand for the same thing which is video games. Look it doesn't really matter who is winning or losing because in the end it is probably going to blow us all away who is the top and the bottom. for the wii they got super mario galaxy and super smash brawl which might get them some sales for the wiis. the PS3 is coming out with new features like Ps3 home and assasin's creed which looks awesome. the Xbox 360 will have some more features hopefully and it has halo 3 and might even have gears of war 2. between all of these systems they all doing quite well but some systems just have some fanboys behind that will talk about how the other system is bad though if you're going to talk bad about another system make sure you at least have the right chart of sales or get some news to back up your system.
I am a hardcore gamer (been gaming since the first NES when I was a kid), and only own a wii. zelda has held my focus for like 2 months now, and I love pirates of the caribbean, Elebits and mario party 8. Mario games rock! My bro owns a PS3 and the games are boring! We lose interest in like an hour, but can play mario party all night! It's the fun factor of the wii that has it killing playstation, and the innovation! PS3 is using the SAME controller as PS2, there's no innovation there... they stole rumble from nintendo with dual shock, and they're stealing the motion with their suckaxis. Show some innovation and people might consider shelling out $700 for a frickin updated graphics card!
That the only argument that the Sony Fanboys have as to why the PS3 will eventually skyrocket, can apply to both the Wii and 360. Be it Price drop, or new games, all three systems have that in their horizon. Also, you can't compare slopes and sh*t like that in this situation the winner is the person who sold the most consoles by a specific date, and as of right now, the 360 is winning.

err.. I believe NEC used the cd engine before. And what about sega-cd? The plastation project was first designed to be used on the snes as an answer to sega-cd.

The forecasted doom was in reference to the Sony exclusive titles moving to Xbox, *cough* Devil May Cry. Not saying that they will lose Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid any time soon, but if there is that threat; then hell, Id be *****ting my pants, too.

nintendo didnt steal the cd format from sony. it was actually sony because when nintendo and sony usedto be partnered buddies, and nintendo asked sony if they would like to help, and sony agreed. after nintendo had told themm what they were doing(making games with cd's), sony backed away from the project, and made it their own. nintendo sued them for stealing and sony won the case for some reason. there you have it.(yes im a fanboy to all systems..ignore my name...)
look the xbox360 is winning as of now w/ around 10 million more or less, it has great online and good games but its been out for over a year and only has 10 millions sold and most game r starting to seem like copies, so many shooting nonetheless their is still halo 3
the wii has sold around 8 mil its control are great which has worked out well and has brought many new followers and its still not a year yet and alright has 8 milm more than the 360 had at that age and much more in than the ps3. But it lacks good games except for zelda and two others and its not to powerful a machine but still has promise alot and will sell more as soon as ssbb mario galaxy etc comes out

Motorstorm grahics are on par with gears as in textures and it only uses 15% of the Cells SPU's so think before type crap the 360 will get smashed by the ps3 power in the coming years...
