The Wii has been receiving a ton of rumors lately and may as well compete with the iPod for the most rumors surrounding its hardware. The price of the Wii is known to be less then 250$ and we will hear an official price announcement by the end of this month. There has been several speculated launch dates, a very strong one being October 2nd here in the US!
It seems that one European shop has listed a price for the Wii - 149.99 Pounds. Now, if this proved to be the actual price in the UK, this might just be one of the cheapest gaming consoles at launch! This translates/converts into about 270$, or probably roughly 300 to keep it even. This is no shocker as the UK always gets things a little more expensive then the rest of the gaming market. The site also has a release date of October 15th (13 days after the speculated US release) and is subjected to change as the "*" indicates. So, is the Wii going to be this cheap (for Europe), is the launch date October 2nd (US) or the 15th (EU)? All of these questions will hopefully be answered by the end of the month.

i'm glad the asterik says that the date can change, it makes no mention of the price, which means this website is obligated to sell at the listed price...so they must mean business. counting the days and counting my pennies...

You spelt "revealed" wrong. Also £ != €.
The price is in pounds, not Euros.
£149.99 is about $280. That makes the rest of your calculations wrong. Having said that, prices over here tend to be the same as the US ones, just in pounds. So at a guess, $150 or so.
I just spoke with a Nintendo Developer and they said that will be the price in the UK and in the US it will go for $250.

after taking off VATandconvertin g it to USD you get 240.... so expect something LESS than that for the US

Well, don't you think its kinda odd that a handful of UK Sites have posted the Wii price of £150 and had to take it down? Well, hopefully it wont be $600 like the damn PS3(VERY unlikely) but more reasonable like $200(*$199.99*) or $250. Well personally I haven't had the chance to preorder one yet so I dont care the price, as long as I get one :)

they had always to pay at least 50$/€ more then all the other EU countries/the US.
So dont just convert the currency!
I was just thinking, this date generally agrees with a release date set on gamefly.com, check in the WII section of your curius, it says that some DBZ game is going to be released on October 16th. I just hope that this is going to be the release date, but im wishing for sooner. September 2nd sounds good to me XD
