Wii owners: You've got mail!

When Nintendo posted the Wiimote safety regulations on their site, we thought that'd be the most they'd go to warn the general public about their Wiimote's aggressive nature. Guess again. Kotaku started getting email from their readers, all of whom owned a Wii. In an effort to make sure everybody would watch where they swing that thing, Nintendo emailed registered Wii owners with an instruction guide on how not to use the white stick.

Wii safety guide

Quoting the guide: "For example, in a game like Wii Sports bowling,  the ball is simply  thrown by releasing the B button on the remote, not by letting go of the remote!"

Does this mean the past strike incidents weren't so much a case of the butter-fingers syndrome we've assumed? People accidentally losing the control is one thing, but letting go of it and leaving it in the hands of a breakable plastic strap...it boggles the mind.

Wow, no first post noobs yet, guess I beat them to the post.

I figure it should be common sense how to use this thing but

alass we do have people smashing LCD screens and lanyards

snaping and WiiMotes flying causing facial injuries to

bystanders. LOL

Don't use this system if your sweaty palmed or

butterfingered. Warning enough?

Go get skateboard griptape and apply it to the WiiMote and this will stop happening. :)

The fact that Nintendo is trying to make the public aware of how to use the Wiimote properly just indicates to me how much of a problem this actually is.

QJ has to get money to keep the site running somehow...so unless ur offering to donate ur hard-earned to do so i recommend u put up with the ad, its not causing any real dramas imo. It would be far more annoying if QJ had to close due to a lack of advertising
