Wii video game news and downloads: Wiimote MotionPlus - Image 1I'm pretty excited with what Nintendo has in store for us tomorrow when their press coverage in E3 starts. Here's a last-minute surprise from them which we can expect to hear more on tomorrow.

The Wii MotionPlus is a new accessory for the Wiimote. Essentially the accessory lets the Wiimote keep more accurate track of a player's arm position and orientation. No doubt this will attract developers to create new franchises.

The MotionPlus accessory boasts of an "unmatched level of precision and immersion", according  to the press release, and that it keeps track of "every slight movement" of the wrist or arm, and renders it identically on screen, "providing a true 1:1 true response in [...] gameplay." I'd really like to see it in action in the press coverage tomorrow.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

1. The "upgrade" accessory is kewl. I wonder if they'll also come out with whole new remotes!

2. If not, it would be awesome if this also controlled a wireless nunchuk!

3. Hell give us both!!! All new Wiimotes that are more responsive and control a wireless nunchuk!!!

» more accessories than good games again

Now Nintendo is selling crap accesories for things the wiimote is already supposed to do!

A new low!

Had only they made their wiimote precise to begin with, no more accessories would be needed. Oh wait, that would make the wiimote cost more and eliminate the possibility of selling you MORE CRAP.

Obviously not an option for Nintendo.

» You're asking Nintendo for this?

Nintendo sued Nyko to stop the release of a wireless nunchuck. They don't like other companies releasing superior products aparently.

Nintendo makes more money off selling SEPERATE controller accessories, so a combined unit will never happen.

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to make good on their promise to come up with a storage solution to the limited internal 512mb. The only reason they are supposedly doing ANYTHING their fans ask for is because SOOOO many people complained.

Keep hoping! Someone like you would never be disapointed with Nintendo's laziness.

» ^you have a point but...

If Nintendo is truely evil they should release a better wiimote instead of an addon so it will force ALL you guys who want a more accurate Wiimote to upgrade to a new controller. Humm.. come to think of it.. which other company did exactly that already?

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-07-15 08:25
» they should

release a new wiimote for the same price with that "feature" built in and release the add on for those with the old ones.

But again, more money can be made selling wiimotes and the add ons seperately. That way people pay more without realizing it.

With the dualshock 3, it's not like sony could make a glue-on dualshock kit or something.

"You're asking Nintendo for this?"

QJ is not Nintendo, so think about that for a few more minutes.

"Nintendo sued Nyko to stop the release of a wireless nunchuck. They don't like other companies releasing superior products aparently."

Whatever the hell this has to do with this story is beyond me. They got sued over patent infringement. I already put you in your place in that article. Would you like me to link you to it?

"Nintendo makes more money off selling SEPERATE controller accessories, so a combined unit will never happen."

As usual you are dead wrong. This is probably because of your utter ignorance in all things attached to everyone else's reality. There no need to repeat it, lavino said it perfectly well. By Nintendo creating attachment accessories they are giving their customers the CHEAPEST solution. Myself, I prefer to spend more money and have things all inclusive.

"I'm still waiting for Nintendo to make good on their promise to come up with a storage solution to the limited internal 512mb."

Actually, Nintendo promised you NOTHING! Or are you still waiting for this just like you where waiting for the NDS connectivity? HAHAHA!!!!!

"The only reason they are supposedly doing ANYTHING their fans ask for is because SOOOO many people complained."

Got any facts? DOH!!! Look who I'm asking. You have no facts. Only ignorant opinions. "SOOOO" does mean squat.

"Keep hoping! Someone like you would never be disapointed with Nintendo's laziness."

The top selling console on the market is lazy? Just more ignorance from Mr. Common Douche Bag!!!

"release a new wiimote for the same price with that "feature" built in and release the add on for those with the old ones."

Gee, you just repeated what I said originally. You parrot me OH SO WELL!!! Hahahaha!!!! Of course with the exception of your ignorant SAME PRICE comment. Please explain to us all how the cost of a Wiimote WITHOUT addon plus the addon (would automatically make it MORE EXPENSIVE) then the new remote at the original price is NOT going to piss people off? That's an insane price model.

As was already explained to you, this model is better for the consumer IN FACT it's the SAME EXACT MODEL your precious 360 used with the HDDVD player. I love how you defend the 360 yet when other vendors do the SAME EXACT thing you then shun them for it. If you want more then you pay more. You acting like a child and demanding that Nintendo give you MORE at the same price is just plan pathetic.

You are the biggest hypocrite around. Keep on Douching!!!!

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

I hope you realize that this comment of yours makes you look like a childish, ranting ignorant fool.

Nothing you said makes any sense.

Or maybe I should spin it? You know by claiming that the 360 should have supported HDMI from the very beginning? Should have supported smaller chips to take care of the over heating issue from the very beginning. Do you really want to get into the pathetic 20GB size of the HDD for a supposed HD unit? A NEW LOW!!!!

Had only Microsoft made a REAL HD nextgen unit from the very beginning.

Grow up already. Isn't it bad enough most QJ members hate you? Even QJ themselves think you're an idiot and feel the need to point you out.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

The rumor is, this will come bundled with a game (or more). A game I personally would have bought anyway. So it looks like this will be free to millions and millions of Wii owners.

As long as the rumor is true, you lose again douchy.

by Nohbody - 2008-07-15 13:32
» Hey ISOHaven

the thing about it being bundled together is not a rumor (atleast im pretty sure). Nintendo said it would be bundled with the game at E3 today.

» Can we just.....

Is there any way to filter "some common sense comments" from this board ?

Honestly, I'm tired of reading the same stupid comments over and over again.

I never bother to answer him because of the "not feed the troll" rule, but seriously, get a life man.

Every time I read some positive Nintendo news, I'm always curious the see in which way he's gonna twist it to make it look real bad lol......

I don't hate other consoles, the fact is I like Nintendo better, and because of this very reason I don't even bother to go to the XBOX360 or PS3 forums, because I know I'll have nothing to say.

This is precisely what some Nintendo haters chould do around here,if you have nothing useful tu say, just avoid coming here altogether.

By the way, I'm really excited about this new attachment, it really promises to boost the sensibility of the controller by a huge deal, and I can't wait to try some 1:1 sword action !

I'd also love to see some racing game use the extra precision, but I doubt that you could still use the Wii Wheel and the Wii motion plus at the same time....oh well, maybe ISOHaven is right , they should release also a new type of remote with integrated motion plus, or at least ship it bundled as standard controller in new Wii packages....

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

Awesome news....THANKS!!!

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

I also like how it's tapered at the bottom. Maybe that'll help with accidental slippage :)

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-07-17 02:01
» of course

Why read my comments when they'll just make you regret your purchase?

by ISOHaven - 2008-07-17 06:37
» WTF!?!?!?!?!

Your comments don't have that much value. The only thing people regret is you.
