Wii-Linux Proof of Concept v0.1 |

Homebrew developer Albert "isobel" Herranz and his team has released a new proof-of-concept application, showing the Nintendo Wii being able to run the operating system Linux. This is a port of the GameCube-Linux project from the same team. According to isobel, this proves that viability of having GC-Linux distro contained in an ELF file.
This runs in a unmodified Nintendo Wii console with the help of the Twilight hack v0.1-alpha2 loader. Before doing anything, be sure that you have the following in your possession:
- A Nintendo Wii
- A SD card
- A SD card adapter for the Nintendo GameCube
- (optional, recommended) a USB Gecko adapter

i need an SD card adapter, but i know im going to buy one, then like 2 weeks later the internal SD slot will be hacked for use, I'm really trying to hold of spending that money on one, but will all this homebrew thats coming out lately, linux, mp3 player, and that file searcher thing, its getting real hard, and since iv been waiting for this for god knows how long.

This isn't news. Just like Pong wasn't news. Just like Tetris wasn't news. If I wanted Gamecube homebrew I would use my pretty little black cube. But I don't. I want Wii homebrew. Like the Wii Mode MP3 player. Now THAT is news. Get powerpc Ubuntu ported to my beloved white goddess and I'll consider THAT news.
To reiterate: PLEASE do NOT port Gamecube Linux over. Port a fully-featured Power-PC version of any good distribution over.
