September is still a few months away but Kyoto-based game company Nintendo is already having Wii pre-order jitters after Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced in a media briefing this morning that Wii's release date and price will be revealed during that month - most probably during the Tokyo Game Show to be held from the 22nd to 24th of that month. For fans marking their calendars until the console's already available, the company is expecting to ship 6 million Wii consoles and 17 million units of software starting this year until March of next year. Along with 2- 2.2 million Nintendo DS, the fastest selling system in Japan per month worldwide.

I hope the announcement is earlier in the month, and that they leave Tokyo Game Show as a buffer to display the launch titles so people can adequately guage their interest and subsequently build up their own hype just before the release.
